Do you use the default theme?

If not can you try switching it?

Some info on mail settings with XAMPP
If you set option à¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€¹Ã…“inform me of replies or these are automatically set the system will attempt to send them emailà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦ If the email error pops up on a real/active site please state the problem in not with XAMPPà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦ else we could go around in circlesà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦

Fubie, I use AcidTechTiger and dont have any other template on my forum.

Michaelo, I don't have that problem at all on my live forum and never have actually.

Anyway after a 4th install it finally works where I can finally log in as admin. So this problem is now fixed.

Now the only problem is that when I try to use the (PM, Admin & Memberlist) links then it go to http:and hense in firefox goes to microsoft.com and in IE 'Page cannot be displayed'.

I can manually type in the correct addrress and it still does the same thing.

These are the only 3 links that don't work. All others work 100%.

Any ideas on this one?

This is not a big deal I guess as I wouldnt ever use 'memberlist' and wouldnt go into private messages unless I was changing something in there.

Thanks for the help as on the other site you would wait days or weeks for an answer.

Wiked, add fisubice to make sure its not template related (I dont think it is) but this may help down the road as we are using fisubice as default.
It does seen XAMPP related so Fubie may be able to sort it out for you.

From everything I've read it points to a theme issue in IM that xampp has a problem with.

Wiked, Can you install fisubice on your live site, Set your admin to use fisubice, then redownload it and your db to xampp and see if that helps?

Sorry for all the dramas guys but I fixed it myself.

I had placed http://localhost as the server name in the config table where I should have just had localhost

This has fixed the problem.

Sorry and thanks for you help.

ok, i am at a loss here. i added themes to my live forum, but it does not seem possible to add them to xampp.

when i try to switch to any other theme beside fisubice, it signs me out, it will display the theme i switched to at this point, but when i click on "log in" it switches me back to the fisubice clone i made for my theme.

any help would be appreciated. i was wanting to apply the modding to any theme files that needed it before applying them to my live site, but it does not look like i will be able to do that.

thanks in advance guys

thanks for the link Mike, but i am not trying to install themes on 1.4.1.

i am really asking a question about xampp here, my present forum is running on 1.4.0 and i have been adding themes to it, but, the duplicate copy of my forum i have set up in xampp, will not allow me to switch themes.

so i am trying to figure out why.
