I finally got my acceptance number from google on Monday for Google Analytics. I installed it right away, and now after a few days the amount of information that is provided through G.A. is awesome. All the info you could ever want about the people who are visiting your site and what they are viewing when they visit. The install is really easy. It's a small Java Script, I just added it to the Overall Footer and was done.
I would recomend this to everyone. The information available to you is endless.

I signed up for it after this thread was posted, but they told me that they'd let me know when it becomes available again. I didn't see anything about needing a referral.

No, they have not supplied people with there own invites.
But, if you go to this link: [url=http]http://www.google.com/analytics/[/url] You will see a link on the right side for requesting an invitation from google. Took about 1 week.

Ya, Fubie and I were PM'ing each other. Fubie had put his code in the exact same place that I had put mine. In overall_footer.tpl before </body>.
He said that google was not getting his data though. Thats the last I heard. Perhaps it's working fine for him now. I viewed the source for Fubies site and could see the code so there should have been no reason why Google could not see it.

Google Analytics now have an option to enter Invitation Code --- So time to look for some invitation code <img>

Ya, The way it worked for me was I Requested an invitation from google, Then a week, or maby 2 later, they emailed me the invitation with the code attached.
I will keep my eyes open for personal invitations like gmail has. So far I have not seen any.
