My desire for the new version outweighs my issue with the name

I don't care what you call it...
you can call it Fubie's Wonder Portal if you want

I'll link to it because the product is kewl

I can think of many names that may be better as well as worse. Look at the name CrackerTracker for example. At first glance you would think it was something used by a miltant anti-white group to track people lacking pigment.
At this point i say just stick with KisMod and in the words of Larry the Cable Guy, "Git er Done!"

i see.
the first thing my teacher wrote on the board, when i started to learn C, was "kiss" = keep it stupid simple.
but i really dont think that integramod is simple.
no offence of course, i personaly don't like simple things.

OK that makes a little more sense to me now. I just didnt see it as an acronym due to the capitalization (or lack of rather). I have less quarms with the new name now but my suggestion is to change the format to KISmod. This would make the new name stand out with an underlying meaning, rather than just leaving it up to the viewer's imagination. Lets see-> KISS the band, Kiss on the lips, Kiss my Ass, etc...

Got a question, is KISmod affiliated with KissPortal? I see both names referenced on his (Michaelo's) site as if they are affiliated but I wanted to ask first. And if they are affiliated, why are we here rather than there? Two support sites (three if you count old IM.com) is going to add to the confusion, not lessen it any wouldnt you think?

The name kismod really has nothing to do with 141. It was concieved for the developement of our next project, KIS Portal and the version of what we now call IntegraMOD that will be built into it.

I still feel very strongly that this name is an abysmal choice. Sorry - that is just how I feel about it.

It seems that the second option implies that there will be an additional delay with the release of 1.4.1, which is likely resulting in anxious members sacrificing their true opinion for a faster release. This is distorting the response. At this point, I would wait patiently for a release with a decent name, though I am not certain why there would be a delay related to this. After all, it is a very important marketing decision which could impact the popularity of the system forever. How much longer could it take to arrive at a name the community can voice confidence in? Why not release 1.4.1 now under the IntegraMOD banner and let the name change fall into place thereafter?

EDIT #1
I have been without internet service for three days, and just now went back and read the flurry of comments on the original thread. I now understand the delay related to the name change, but I still feel it is a small price to pay for getting it right. I am surprised that some members are switching their opinion on the matter just so they can get their hands on 1.4.1 sooner. I would wait a month or longer without complaint just to keep KisMOD off my banner and have confidence in the matter.

EDIT #2
Why is the acronym mod showing KisMOD as "The new phpBB3 pre-modded package"? I am getting more confused with every twist...

I think...

> Integramod will/has been integrated into/with KissPortal
> Kiss Portal will/has been integrated into/with PhpBB3 (Olympus)
> Package release of Integramod+Kiss Portal+Phpbb3=KisMod

But that's just me, maybe I'm wrong <img>
