[Solved] HTML Guru Needed Part 2

PostAuthor: Frost » Thu Jan 04, 2007 5:45 am

Ok.

Try this one.

http://www.black-fusion.com/test

My Code:

[code]<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN"   "http]

My CSS:

[code]/* Hack for IE to display the margin on #right properly */* html #right {width]

The html is rewritten about a hundred times and the css is changed so much from me cutting it up, trying this and that. I'm at my wits end. I know it's sloppy now but damn, how many possibilities can it be?

(The problem is the space between the images)
Probably need to add that <img>

Any Ideas?

this is what I found at WC3

<td><img src="images/blackfusion2_02.gif" width="800"

An "id" is a unique identifier. Each time this attribute is used in a document it must have a different value. If you are using this attribute as a hook for style sheets it may be more appropriate to use classes (which group elements) than id (which are used to identify exactly one element).

Well I tried at first to just use a table id for the whole section but that didnt work, so there at the last I tried using td id= on each td. I thought you could specify say.. "block" in the css and use it for more than one but apparently not on td.

Anyways, even without the css file all-together and the code straight out of imageready it works, but as soon as I put it in the html "index" part it screws up.

I don't understand what's been happening. These problems are all very small and new to me, I've been doing this for awhile and never had this problem before. Weird.

I'm going to try making several css entries and using a different td id on each td see if that works.

I need to just start over and completely rewrite the code cause now it's extrememly sloppy <img>

Ok, sat down, rewrote. I got it cleared up.

You can view what it was supposed to look like here http://www.black-fusion.com

I can show you the new css and html if anyone is interested in how I solved the white space issue.

I thought about that, you're right there are still people on ancient machines who use 800x600 resolution :D

You're probably thinking "What an asshole!"

Let me explain  )) I can't even stand to look at it. It's huge and very ugly. I don't even want people looking at my stuff with that resolution because it destroys it. <img>

I won't even get into what I think about Internet Explorer....lol

Anyways, yes eventually I need to "stay with standards" and create a less-then-800px stretchable layout, but not right now.
