Theme Help [SOLVED]

PostAuthor: MWE_001 » Fri Feb 02, 2007 8:41 pm

Please help me if you will. I am using a vanilla phpBB and using the nasty ol Sub Silver........I know I know...... There is much better, BUT without going into a long drawn out story, Im forced into using this theme.

Now for the reason of my post. Since Im stuck using sub silver, can you please tell me how to add background to the main page and blocks please? Oh yes.... I have IM Portal installed as well.

Now the lettering is default orange. I want to change it to black. Where do I look? I messed with the whole .css for subsilver and letters would NOT change from orange.

Many thx in advance........ Ray

Look at my example here. My Site

well, Un fortuneately I cant delete that css at all. I use the MPS mod and it has to be there. I recon. Ill have to play with it later. I was just hoping at bare minimum to change the color of the text for the block titles.

MPS is cool and all but it changes so many things its not even funny. I tried using Integra2 theme and that was a total disaster. <img>

Well, I tried to google what mps mod was but phpbb.com is down or something at the moment but if I can remember correctly its myspace look-alike or something?

Anyways, you're saying that you have to leave the original css in the overall_header or something? That doesn't make any sense to me but ok lol

Even if you cant change the original to a seperate css file you can still edit the css inside the overall_header to get what you need. However you will also have to change the settings in the acp as well if you keep this method.

battery is dead, will continue this in a minute when i get home

mps has quite a few additional .css entries. the purpose for them is so users can design thier own .css for thier myspace profiles. If I remember correctly, it was kind of confusing, but I was able to move them to the template.css. If I can find my .css, ill post it

Well, First off, I apologise for not coming back and marking this as solved. I have been sick and unable to get on.

2nd, after hours of hair pulling and cussing and screaming, I got it to work. The purpose for leaving the default css is simple. It allows the site to look like its regular template when viewing forums and etc. When you view your personal profile space, it is like a myspace page. There are switches used to switch back and forth between .css files in the overall header. That way when viewing your personal profile space you get your custom page and not the default template look. When you click home or forums etc it switches back to the default css file thus allowing the site to look as it should once again. its wuite nice the way it works and all types of handy for future stuff i want to do.

If anyone ever installs MPS and uses integra2 style, get ahold of me and Ill share my overall header tricks to make it work, otherwise, it looks REAL bad.

Thx for the replies anyhow gents. Much appreciated.

Ray
