IM Portal Page layout defaults

Using the Page Management part of the IM Portal, you can adjust how the entire site displays, plus make other pages that have a different layout.

What I would like to know, is can I keep the default for most of the site, but set some pages to use a different default display. ie, the majority of the site uses the layout for Page 3 as the default, but some pages use the layout for page 7.

You can adjust the look and feel of your site via differetn layouts available when you create your pages. To choose one page or the other for deafult you will find this option in your IMPortal Config section of the ACP It is the first chioce right off the bet. This is where you set which page is default. OR If able, you can also use a site redirect via your Cpanel on your server OR a .hta file in your root directory.

Thing is, I want to use two different layouts. I want the one that is my current default for most of the pages, but I want my ADR setup to use a different default. Is there any way of doing this?

I dont think so. BUT some others around here are much more fluent with layouts then I am.
I have only figured out this trick to use with another mod and it is for 1 page only not many others. And it totally gets rid of your them alltogether for that page so In allreality, I dont think this is what you are after at this time. Teelk or Helterskelter or Frost would be the ones I would ask first.

create a new portal page for adr. Use whatever style you want for it. For your link to adr use something like
http://www.yoursite.com/forum/portal.php?page=4
where page=4 is the number of your new portal page

Yes, I have already created the extra page layout. However, using a link to the new portal page won't help, as it still won't show up on my ADR pages.

I want to make it so that if a user goes to one set of pages, eg index.php, portal.php they get the default layout, but if they go to other pages, eg adr_character.php, adr_zones.php, they get another page layout.

The banner isn't important. The difference between the layouts is the first one has 3 columns, the second only has 1. I want the 3 column layout to be used for most of the site, but the 1 column to be used on the adr pages. The reason being, 3 columns on the adr pages makes a mess of the layout, but I want it on the rest of the site.

EDIT: Sorry, just checked, you probably weren't seeing the second page right, it was set to only be viewed by moderators.

so you would set the default portal page to use 3column. as long as the adr pages are portal pages, you can set them to use whatever layout you want.
example... this site uses portal_body as default, however several pages here use 3column and layout1. http://integramod.com/forum/portal.php?page=18 is using layout1.tpl with forum wide blocks on

Unfortunately, the adr pages aren't portal pages and can't be used as such.

I think the layout from the default_portal is assigned in page_header in this line:

portal_parse_blocks($portal_config['default_portal'], TRUE, 'header');

Is there anyway of overriding this setting in individual files to use a different portal layout? This would do what I want.

I hate to interject so late inthis, but , If it is possible to use the old blank page template mod with your current version, then what Helter Skelter talks of is 100% do able. I infact used this method in a Im 1.4.0 Install and it worked flawless. I did it with Help Desk Mod as Well as Austins Activity Mod. Gives you total Session Control over your php pages then. <img>

I for the life of me cant think of the link for that mod. If I find it anywhere I will give you a shout back. There are a couple different versions and only the one particular one worked out for me in this process.

I found a blank template mod at phpBB, but I'm not sure if it will work properly, as ADR uses it's own template directory. I'm looking into that as well.
