I know I've seen a few people here post about phpbb3, and themes for it, and I myself am also guilty, but I've got some rather bad news...

Actually that is not true, alot of people know because it has been answered 100 times before, and the answer is NO, you will not be able to use Beta5 styles with RC1.

Anyways, according to the mod team, you will not be able to use anything from beta on RC1.

they just dont want to be flooded with tech support questions due to template errors. We have several ongoing support issues here now because users are trying to use 140 templates with 141. There are still users using beta 141 sites and asking why things are not working correctly...I feel their pain...lol

Yea, so do I for the most part.

What triggered this temporary moment of irritation was me heading over to check the status of the beta, which led me to actually log into my old account there. Turns out I had several pm's from people asking me to make them themes, even ones willing to pay large amounts of cash for the designs. I haven't logged on in a while so they are all old, and probably found another designer by now, but the point is after reading I was interested as to why the people were asking me. I forgot all posts I made there except the ones where I got shot down by mods immediately so I went and viewed all my posts. Couple of locked ones, some rude ones, and the only thing I found that would make people pm me is the first theme I ever made. (Which sucks looking at it now lol)

Anyways, that's when CyberAlien informed me that it would do no good to submit styles as they rarely get validated, if at all. So I gave up on that too.

Anyways, re-seeing those threads kicked it all off again.

Then* I went on to read up on about 50 topics about the phpbb3 styles. Some of the users were asking legitimate questions and getting shot down and locked by mods. This just made me sympathize with the members even more and I got mad.

lol...its your thread. You can delete it if you like, but it may help explain to some why we sometimes seem rash in our responses to users who choose not to follow directions

I actually loved reading this topic.... felt with you all the way in the first post... then got things from a different point of view that is still unknown to me... then the reasoning and the finishing touch of wisdom... Like an exciting movie

I did the same I ported about 10 themes from 1.3.2 to 1.4.0 then realised I was using a beta version....

Had to start form scratch as I didn't fancy checking each file individually...

Now I wait for official release and go form there... though my theme users do get a bit pissed for the delay but what can you do...
