Hi guys a sad sad day.... I've now moved away from runnign IntegraMod as it just could not handle the user loads we were experiencing.....

With 18 users and around 70 guests the site was so unusable, about 15 seconds a page refresh, up to 30 sefconds to make a post. Okay we had a lot of heavy extra Mods like SOE and M2F, but towards the later days these were removed with little speed increase.

On our SrevInt VPSPro Solo server we were hitting cPanel CPU loads of 8-15 CPUs which telsl how bad it became.

Now we commonly have 50 plus users logged in and 70-80 guests so far peaking at 80 users logged in and 53 guests - site load averaging 0.08 of a CPU with 'Quick Reply' posts taking place in less than a second and normal pages loading in less than 2 seconds. Oh and this is with commercial SOE optimisation as well.

Okay we've lost some facilities and it costs IIRC $108 for the vBulletin license, $149 for the SEO system, $19 for the site skin, but it does mean we can expand.

We lost some things like downlods and avatars in the migration but everr user and post migrated.

I guess that when one hits a certain levelk of use on the site that one has to go down this or similar routes, but it is still a sad day. I loved working with IM and you guys but one has to think of the benefit to the site and the users.

Needless to say I'll still pop in here on occasion but not as often. A sad day but we all have to move on.

I notiecd the change a few days ago when I went on your sig link, I would use vB but the cost puts me off, I like all of Integras features though!

I have noticed my bandwith shoot up, I have a 500GB limit and my site for my flash game is 1/2 way there and its only the 7th of the month. <img>

sad to see you go Tec, but please dont blame IM. You added a few mods to make your site more attractive to search bots and they dont browse like normal ppl. They can use a tremendous amount of system resources.

The reason many of our mods cannot be easily updated, is that IM is not a bunch of mods slapped together. Many of them had to be completely rewritten in order to play nice with other mods. We have had many very talented devs over the years adding, modifying and optimising the mods included in IM. There are around 30 IM forums on this server and Ive never seen page loads over 3 sec (avg is around .6)

wow...only 18 users? i just wanted to say before i took my site offline, i had over 150 users at one point, and just about every useless mod there was, not to mention the mods that were there for just the staff to use to rund the board and i never had any problems with load times, and no complaints from users for load times. not even my dialup users complained. and with a heavy graphics site like mine was, there is usually a load time concern with all the graphics showing.

so i am with Helter, don't blame IM, it is a great package to use.

Well all Ican say is that for me IM used to perform but not after the upgrade to 1.41.

Anyway more than happy with the new system, adn still hope to keep up with friendships made here.

I run 4 ims on a shared host and have never seen a slow page though that aside....I hope you might return when the newest im is released in the future...

Oh I'm not gone, I'll still pop on every few days or so, just not daily.

IM was fast enough until I upgraded to 1.41, and great then until we hit the 8 Million hits a month barrier, when we got past 10 Million it became unusable.....

Needless to say though I love IM and will indeed continue to watch developments with interest!
