Greatest disappointment

After getting nowhere with circular replies and shrugging shoulders not to mention the constant buck-passing...

It's no wonder, trying to remove this POS called CrackerTracker has caused our entire site to explode. We've had enough with I-Mod and would never suggest it to anyone. It's foolishly constructed and there are too many things that are tied up in code that's explosively set in stone.
:#: :#: <img> - A vote of 5 bombs for this software, because there's no POS icon.

You can remove CTracker by editing a single line - you just need to search 30 seconds for that solution on our forum.

It is a pity you are not happy with IM. May I remind you that this is a free option, and you indeed get here much more than what you pay for! If this is not enough for you, good luck findind something more appropriate for you.

ive been involved with IM since 131 and there have been over 200,000 local dl's since then. I say local because the software is also available from sourceforge and there are probably as many dl's from there. In all my time here, ive seen 5 similar posts. Most from ungrateful users who had received a ton of tech support from staff and members before attacking us for having such a pos product.
The most stable forum software available is V-Bulletin. This is due mostly to the fact that it is professionally developed (very expensive) and has very few features compared to IM, yet you will see posts similar to yours on their support site.
This leads me to believe that no matter how simple, stable, or free a piece of software is, some people will just never get it...
For those who do, and for those willing to try, we are here.
Ive personally installed close to a hundred sites for users who for one reason or another could not do it themselves, and I know many of our staff and members have done the same.
I know CTracker is a pain, but if you have a site that is busy enough to get googled, chances are that if you do not have CTracker installed, you will be successfully hacked.
Good luck with your search, because you will not find a better piece of php software anywhere for any price, and you definitely will not find a better community.

WoW...
Considering you had people trying to support a mod that isn't even part of their package!

Quoting, Helter.
his file
admin/admin_mass_delete_users.php does not exist in IM 141

With all due respect - when the Admin of a site can't do a simple task that's not stopped by CT, it's more than just a 'pain'... Everytime I have to edit something, even just a Welcome PM, I have to change the folder name. Now tell me that's not a little excessive to get something done...

Welcome pm has issues, not the best choice of examples a simple site search would tell you that.

The chmod errors your having are not normal and I'd bet it's the root or your 404 errors too. We have no idea what your host is running. You may be better off asking them how you should be handling some of this stuff differently. In my opinion as either user you don't seem like someone who can't do this. I'd really would like to know who the host is you can pm it if you wish.

I have to agree. I have been with Integramod for a long time...maybe as long as Helterskelter and I have watched this software grow by leaps and bounds. Sure ctracker is a pain, but well worth it. I normally suggest people to go through and do all of the ctracker debugging as well before bringing the site live with the software. Helps out a whole bunch.

As for the errors, I have installed numerous sites in the last month or two with the same issues as yours. Once they got rid of their host and found one to suit their needs, they were real happy with Integramod...Even with the pink screen from ctracker. It takes just a short bit to do some debugging. In the end you will find it well worth it.

Good luck in your search for a finer free product that is supported any better than Integramod.

RiverFox I am quite surprised in your post
I have seen a few posts like yours thru this
forum before & find that members who write
these sort of posts must have a real issue with
IM. its quite annoying sometimes especially if
the member who needs help does not have real
patients & tries to understand the problems that have occurred.

I have not bean long on this board, but I have
had 100% support from other members here with my
enquiries & problems. all it takes is patients & determination.

I have learned alot here with IM & must say its a great
community especially when u show respect & receive the same respect back.

I am not a genius when it comes to php but I have learned alot
from the help I have received here. so RiverFox I really cant understand why you feel like this & by the way as I understand 30% of problems is servers provided by certain providers who have different
runnings of there servers.

If we were all understanding I am sure heads will join to acomplish more for further IM releases.

Also we need help translating certain .scripts to work with IM & i know this takes time, so my patients is well worth it.

Not understanding how software works is very frustrating. Not learning how a piece of software works and interacts with everything else is incomprehensible. I personally have worked on the ct problem for two days, and after numerous posts and searching the threads, i found the answer (found the avenue on how to fix the majority of the problems).

i did rename the folder, however that was the brute force way, and decided against it. i made on change in one php file from medium to low that allows me to perform most functions without seeing the stupid, glaring, in your face "pink block of death text".

i for one enjoy the challenge.
