Ok, here is what happened.

I am using a totally stock version of Integramod140 with all the latest updates etc.

I uploaded the acidtech folder contents to the templates dir.

I went to extreme styles in admin and installed all the acidtech colours.

I did not set it to default and people can chose their own style

I went to my profile to select acid tech as my default theme.



Nothing happened. No change. And what is worse the annoucments stop showing in the portal. I checked the annoucments id and it is ok.
I downloaded the zip again and reinstalled it, still no change.

Also, when i try now to slectec suborange or sub blue (used to work) no longer work, so i am stuck with f1subice.

I saw it has happen to some one else before but they got no solution.

Any ideas?

check your chmods. sounds like includes/def_themes is probably not chmodded to 666. If that is the case, you should check them all. the 140 Installation manual in the manual block under Board Navigation, will list all the neccessary chmods

I think you should uninstall and delete acitech template first, then upload the zip to the server, then unzip.

Before selecting your preferred template from profile you have to make sure "Override user style" is set to "no" in ACP/General Admin/Configuration.

What would cause the annoucments block to stop working doh?

I unstalled acid and reverted back to subice, the the annoucments block still does not work. I tried to set it to diffent forums and make new annoucments but still nothing.

still nothing.

any other ideas?

is your announcements block cached? Is it active?

It is active but not cached. The block heading is showing up, but no content is inside it.

hmmm.. that's interesting... announcements is the block file used for yours, correct?

and do you see the actual announcement block files in your block folder?

if so, what happens when you select a different block file? does any data pull in?

yup, announcements.php and cfg files.

they were working perfectly untill in tried to install the style.

This is probably the worst suggestion in the history of support forums...

But did you have "Overide user choice" checked?

For the announcement block problem you can try to copy the block's tpl file from fisubice into the acidtech blocks folder. It could be a corrupt file.

i am not using acid tech, i never could use it becaue it would not work.

i did at the start. Then i turned it off.

Is the new version of IM nearly realdy. hopefully an upgrade will solve every thing <img>

Doesn't make any sense that changing styles temporarily would affect a different style. The only other thing I could suggest is you clear all private data from your browser (cache, cookies, etc)

I know, it makes no sense to me either. I though that maybe i deleted a file by mistake, so i uploaded all the template files again, but no change.

You reuploaded the template files of all the themes in question?

[Again, you should delete cache etc from your browser. Not sure if you have done this as you haven't stated so]

Yes i deleted the cache files.

Since acid tech would not work and i have the announcment block problem, i deleted the acid tech style and set every thing back to the stock style, sub ice. I re uploaded all the subice files only.

This is not a major problem, just annoying.

did you get the theme from this site or the phpbb site? I made the mistake of not using acid tech from here and it didn't work at all (just a shot in the dark)

I have the acid tech theme as well... the Announcements Forum ID(s) section in the IM Portal Config isn't supposed to be 1,2,3 etc... those should be the actual forum id's of your forums... hover over one of the links to your forums, and you should see what the number is (the f=number).... for example, i added 2 forums to the list... forum 11 and 25 (f=11 is how it came up) so I entered 11,25 in the Announcements Forum ID(s) section and it's working fine with me... I have it cached every 12 hours and the rest of the settings are the same as yours.

double check your forum id's.. i don't think it's the theme doing this, since it's working for me

p.s. - using the default 0 didn't work for me, i actually had to specify the forum id's for it to actually kick in

i am not using acid tech now, back to orginal subice

that's a shame.. acid tech rocks.... i change the color every month and freak my members out... it's so much fun <img>
