Smilies did not appear in News

PostAuthor: doswald » Tue Nov 14, 2006 1:58 am

Please help.

When I post a message and select News Category as news, when I visit the Home, the smilies I included in the post did not displayed as it is.

Hope you can help me.

Thanks

I can't seem to duplicate the problem at the moment, but I have seen it before. Try going to ACP>General Admin>Configuration+, then to Profile Options>Reading and make sure that "Display images" is set to yes. You may also want to try overriding the user's choice.

Dear Teelk,

Thanks for your time replying my query, however, it didn't work. The supposedly smilies still didn't appear.

Hello everyone,

This is what I'm talking about, I don't know why the smiley didn't appear. Or it is normal that a smiley didn't appear in the News?

[flash=,:s17pqejy]http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b164/doswald/PHPBB/smiley-wont-appear.jpg[/flash:s17pqejy]

and here's the actual forum that the smiley is included, yet didn't appear in the NEWS.

[flash=,:s17pqejy]http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b164/doswald/PHPBB/forum.jpg[/flash:s17pqejy]

Hope you guys help me to sort this thing.

Thanks and regards,
doswald

Hey doswald,

Can you right click the image on both the post and the news and see if the URLs are different? That may give us a starting point.

Check your "Smilies Storage Path" in ACP>General Admin>Configuration. It should be set to images/smilescrimbo

Note there's no slashes before or after.

My smileys path is only images/smilescrimbo

Any idea?
