creating blocks

was just trying to create a block by "tweaking" an already made one - recent topics as its just what i need with a couple of alterations. but i cant find lang_recent_topics_block.php in blocks lang>your lang etc. and can somebody please refresh my memory as to how i set which forum to pull the info from when finished as ive completely forgotten how i configured it to begin with <img>

Hi,

There's no language file for the "recent topics" block.
The PHP code for this block is in <portal>/blocks/blocks_imp_recent_topics.php
And the HTML template in <portal>/templates/<your>/blocks/recent_topics_block.tpl

Very good topic. I been looking and searching for ever for forums and how to's to create blocks. I dont understand how to make one call up info from the database. I need a few blocks made badly but dont have the know how I can handle html but anything sql or php just makes my head ache bad. <img>

no but ive just found the thread for creating multiple recent topics blocks with its own generator - just what i needed and so easy to use.
