Various White Pages

PostAuthor: Demonicpagan » Mon Dec 18, 2006 11:28 pm

I am trying to figure out what my possibly be causing white page issues on a couple of sites I have.

One of them: http://knightsofnee.stelth2000inc.com I have had up for quite some time and was a fully working site when I first put it up and now I am receiving white pages on my profile page when trying to view as well as trying to view and post topics in my forums.

My latest site, using the same setup as Knightsofnee is also doing the same thing on the same pages.

The site is running on PHP v4.3.6 and MySQL 4.0.18 IntegraMod 1.4.0 and phpBB 2.0.21.

If anyone can help me figure out what could be causing this, it would be awesome.

I tried that and it didn't fix anything... i'll have to wait for my dns server to come back up to fully verify that though.

--Edit--
DNS came back up and I replaced those 2 files and I'm still getting white pages so that didn't fix anything for me

Here's the site: http://ffxi.stelth2000inc.com

It's possible that your server is not set up to display all error messages. When this is the case, many times the error messages that aren't displayed are memory errors. If you have root access I'd check your php.ini to see how much memory has been allocated to php. I believe that the default is usually 8mb, which is not enough in most cases. 16mb is usually a good number to use instead.

unfortunately i don't have root access to do anything with the php.ini file that my hosting provider uses.

they do have set an 8M memory limit in their php.ini

My Hosting provider does say this about using my own php.ini
Can I use my own php.ini?

You can use your own php.ini by putting the file in the same directory as the php file that was meant to use it. However, this is not recommended and not supported. We have a default php.ini that has been designed to work best with our customer environment and using your own will overwrite our changes. The recommended method for setting php environmental variables is to use the ini_set() php call. Not all environmental variables will be allowed to be overridden though, specifically those dealing with resource limitations.

--Edit--
With this said... I went in and added ini_set('memory_limit', '16M'); to common.php and now things seem to be working

try putting this into common.php

Code: Select all
 if (!extension_loaded('gd')) {    dl(gd.so);}
