Considering the apparrent incompatibility of IntegraMOD 1.4.0/1.4.1 with the Opera browser, I decided to run a test with the HTML Validator at w3.org.
Here are the results for popular forum platforms:
0 Errors with HTML Validation - vBulletin
4 Errors with HTML Validation - Invision Power Board
7 Errors with HTML Validation - phpBB
188 Errors with HTML Validation - integrmod.com Portal
247 Errors with HTML Validation - integrmod.com Forums
My IM 1.4.0 site received 194 errors on the main portal page and 85 errors on the forum page. I turn off universal portal blocks using the three column layout, therefore this could account for the reduction in errors when viewing my forum.
How much of a concern are these code errors? Could they be the culprit behind problems with Opera? Beyond browser issues, is it potentially slowing the speed of the site?
To be fair, I found one forum platform that did worse than IM 1.4.0 and 1.4.1. Wekke's Integramod 2.0 clocked in with one less error on the portal, with the close error count likely due to the fact that they both share the same version of IM Portal. However, the IM 2.0 forum page generated a staggering 761 errors. Ouch.
