[SOLVED] Strange error with Smilies panel

Howde folks, this is probably a really silly question, but anyone know how to fix this error?

Warning: opendir(./../var_cache/) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /home/sfiregi/public_html/forums/includes/lite.php on line 299

It only seems to happen on the smilie editing utility (at least thats the only place i've seen it so far!)

Check to see if the var_cache directory exists(in forum root) and that it's CHMOD'd to 777.
