Maximum # of Forums?

PostAuthor: enoonsti » Thu Apr 27, 2006 1:48 pm

Hello all. I was just curious about this and asked it another thread: http://integramod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=144

So how many forums can Integramod support? I knew that def_tree.php could only support about 600 or so sub-forums/categories, but I just figured that its limitations could be avoided with a little bit of creativity.

Hypothetically speaking, if I wanted to have more than 600 forums (that would be pretty cool :?

http://www.theplanningsite.com/cms/

use the jump box to see the amount of forums. If you live in uk you will notice thats all the councils...hence me needing many forums.

That site is using the new Categories Hierarchy (say new its 9months old i think) as the old one (included in integramod) couldnt support it...was managing about 3/4 what i have there.

A long time was spent trying to get around the limitations and the mod author helped out a lot but no solution was ever found....proper solution not quick fix. <img>

there are only 18 posts. Why so many forums? I think I would get tired of trying to find the proper place to post...lol

Was asked for and provided.....it actually helped win a court case and made national newspaper. I think the site was more a bargaining tool than anything.

Easiest way to navigate is with the drop down box. So much more could have been done but as said...its never used so why bother. <img>

It looked like it has potential, might just need some PR
