I have a slight problem here. I have setup the photo album so as users can have personal albums. Thats cool, because it works. BUT When setting who can view albums to private, the owner of that album can not view their own album. When trying to view their personal gallery, the get general error. Not authorized. If it is set to reg, then everyone and anyone can see your album. What good is the private setting if they are not infact private? Why not do away with private all together then? I am just wondering this because I dont want users nagging at me later down the road about it. It is not a live site as we speak. Is their a fix for this or am I just not getting something right? any help on this would be much appreciated.

Private is an excellent option, but requires some work and can become time consuming. For me, I've found the best way to use this option is to create user groups. Here's where the work comes in. Depending on other settings, you may have to manually add users to your specified groups. After you have created user groups, go back to your albums private settings, and you should see a permissions option that let you choose which groups can access the album. Hope that helps. Need more help, just yell

Well all I'm actually after is for only the user that created the gallery, can view the gallery. No one else at all. Albeit Admin....for legal reasons should so arise....Which hope never would..lol

Sounds a little complicated. I just ran through my ACP, and didn't notice anyway of doing this. Unfortuneately, my experience w/the private option rests w/user groups. I've never come across this option yet, and it sounds like something that would have to be custom written. You may want to reconsider this option, just based on the legal issue you mentioned. Consider hackers to, and it would raise my concern. If it's something you absolutely must have, I'm pretty sure you could still create several user groups, and assign only one user per group. This would get you arround it, but than you have to consider how tedious it could become, anything more than a handful, Users that may want to share thier album in the future. At this point, I would suggest changing the title of this topic to "photo album permissions" or something. Maybe, someone can come up w/a better solution. Sorry, I couldn't help more, but there's some great support here, so there's still hope.
