Thanks Teelk and Dioncecht for those information. No chance so far with the update.

First, I copied a fresh version of the 1.4.1 files on a test server, run the installation .script, deleted the newly created 1.4.1 database, uploaded my 1.4.0 database and tried to run the update .script. I got the following error message : "I am sorry, but your database type is not supported."

Then I tried to use the .script written by Dioncecht. Apart from some problems (my host does not allow to copy from one database to another), I finally could change a little the .script after copying all 1.4.0 tables with a temporary name (old_TABLENAME) in the same database as the 1.4.1 tables. But when I run the .script, I get on most of the tables the error "entry already exists". If I first empty the 1.4.1 tables, I obviously would loose data (for example, the new config table is larger than the 1.4.0 one)...

Any idea on how to proceed?

I am thinking of giving up the upgrade, as it seems that it will require too much troubles... I am afraid that if just copying the old database into the new one is co complicated, then adding all mods again might prove much too difficult...

Thanks for your help,

sanji

I found the answer at
http://www.integramod.com/forum/viewtop ... d+multiple

I changed the permission for config to 666 as mentioned by Teelk then rerun the db_update_to_141.php .script.
It seems to be ok...for now...

Thanks anyway.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a list of differences between 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 please? Is it just an update of security and stability or are there new features and mods?

Also, the link on the homepage to this topic ("For questions, comments and feedback, please post here." ) has a broken URL which seems to be because some of the address is duplicated:

and i am sure there is lots that i don't remember
not to mention thousands of other code changes.

I thank the Devs for their hard work on this project but I will never be upgrading to 141. The development of Integramod has gone in a direction I do not wish to follow.
All I wanted was bug fixes and updates to what I had and with all the changes got more hassle than I wish to deal with.

There are a lot of improvements and updates with the upgrade, and though I won't try to talk you into upgrading, I just hope you know that there are a lot of us here that would be more than willing to help you along the way and solve any problems you might run across.

Thanks for the help Cleo, but I can't see list of differences - is this the right link?
