Install issues

I create my own topic to not "polluate" the feedback one coz this is not the first nor the last post I write over this upgrade )

I've installed on my test portal the new 1.4.1 using the upgrade pack, so I uploaded the whole 1.4. pack except the folders specified (install, and 2 others), then I ran the update .script.
No serious error happened.

however I have 2 concerns now:

1. all my board navigation (qbar) has been replaced
is there a way to not make this happen when I'lll make my change on my live portal? I really want my exact custom qbar to be kept.


2. All my forums are gone. Ther's only one "test" category and 1 "test" forum displayed on the index
What's that? I've checked my DB and all my forums are still there but I do not see them in the ACP admin forum s
Strangely I can see them all in the cash menu so I suspected this mod to hide my forums and I turned all the forums to off and completly disabled the cash mod but still nothing is displayed.
I am sure this is a silly question, but how can I make my forums back?

To get your forums back try using the re-sync button in ACP

1) Did you keep a backup of your forum? If so, grab the includes/def_qbar.php file from it and overwrite the one in your webspace.

2) If CHMOD permissions remain intact(supposed to if you overwrite them, but sometimes don't), then resyncing the forums should do it.

ok I finally solved it by deleting the install/def_tree.php file
