IM 132 to phpBB 2.0.23 to IM 141 backwards upgrade hack?

Problem is we got a 132 forum and hostwent to mysql5 and it now won't work.

trying to update to 141 had failed time and time again, just blank pages or constant user errors.

so on a whim I installed phpBB 3x as my host provieds it on auto install.
And the phpBB3x conveter was able to grab al lthe info n such form the 132 forum andit worked.

Didn't lose any post or data but we did lose all the nifty mod IM has pre installed.

Im wondering if I did the same with phpBB 2.0.23, then upgraded phpBB 2.0.23 to IM 141, would it be able to bring back my KB and albums and junk info???

Long as thew tables and junk are there, shouldn't it all work again in 141???

Its super backazzwards but the typical upgrade path does not work.

Or is there a change that IM will have an upgrade for phpBB3x soon???
