i noticed on some other portals there is a block that allows people to submit quotes and the block will show 1 at random when the portal home page is up.

is there one of these that works with IM 1.4.1 ?

do you got a link to such site? and do they use a phpbb board or some other?

this portal was the portal i had installed with phpbb 2.0.22 but it didnt have as much as IM 1.4.1 reason i changed. but it did have a nice block/module not sure exactly which is was but it allowed people to build a quote database (similar to knowledge base) except it would have a little block (like album) that displays a quote at random.

mkportal works with a multitude of boards.

i'll take a look at this this week if needed i'll install it on one of my def boards and see what i'll can do to make it work on im also

do you could maybe provide me a download link as you have the mod already, i hate to register there, i'm regged at so many boards already

its actually a portal that integrates into phpbb 2.0.22 (works on vbullitian and invision too) so u gotta install it into a fresh phpbb 2.0.22 board i think.

I do a random quote on my board, but it refreshes after every refresh... the way I do it I have a block setup and selected HTML encoding an use this little .script

Like I said, that will get ya a random quote every time the page reloads. Just fill text in between the quotes and keep the numbering consistent and make sure you update the randomizer with the correct number. Works like a charm on my site.

its a module and a block the module allows adding. the block displays the quotes at random like with album.

but the mk portal module/block is not compadable with IM141 <img>

i will take a look and try to port te block to IM as soon as i have the time

thanks but the entire thing is a block and a module the block just works as a random display for the module where people add the quotes.
