i just quickly browsed through the mod and ther is no reason you cant use it in IM141. You may have to be a little creative on some of the finds, but if youve installed mods before, it shouldnt be too much trouble.

Thank you HelterSkelter. But does IntegraMOD offer any such MODs ? If not how do you expect people to use your product ? There is too much spam these days and we cant have MODs round the clock deleting spam. Portals or Forums dedicated to educational issues with a large child audience and religious forums do need some kind of online protection you know that is much stronger.

This could be handy for forums with guest posting where spam bots roam free.

I'm not a fan of allowing guests to post. That may be the best idea for you to keep the site to the intended audience. If you need to allow guest posting, I would recommend some type of captcha mod be presented before the guest can post.

I think what Helterskelter meant was there is no reason why you CANT use it. He just simply omitted one letter fromthe word

Simply download the mod from phpBB and try an install. Like he said, you may need to get creative with a find or two but the mod you asked about should work just fine.

Its not just a question of guest posting. Even with only registered users being allowed to post , high traffic forums end up having too many human spammers for moderators to deal with.

Plus in forums meant for schools and colleges who are the major users for these kinds of free software , there can be only zero tolerance. We dont want kids exposed to any kind of inappropriate material and we cant have mods active all the time. Same is the case for forums with theological topics where any spam would offend sensibilities of the visitors.

Thanks for the clarification MWE-001. I will try during this weekend and get back to you for clarifications.

I totally agree, I based what I suggested of the mods di.scription.

MOD De.scription: Define some spam words in the ACP. When someone tries to post a defined spam word their post will not be entered into the database. Instead they will receive an error message. This could be handy for forums with guest posting where spam bots roam free. However, you may also specify that certain forums are exempt from the spam check.MOD De.scription: Define some spam words in the ACP. This is going to be circumvented rather fast by human spammers, you might try joining your servers up at http://www.projecthoneypot.org and join in the fight. Have a look at the http blacklist stuff it could be of help too.
