Guild Roster

PostAuthor: Elizza » Tue May 16, 2006 8:33 pm

I run a website for a Final Fantasy XI linkshell (otherwise known as a guild in other mmorpgs) One of the things I'm really interested in doing is making a page for the members to post their character profile in. So it would be all user submitted information. Things like

Character name
Job Levels
Crafts
Mission status

Just random stuff like that but I'd like it more if there was a mod for integramod. I'm at a complete lost when it comes to php among other things as I am learning. But I havent been able to find anything that would help me in this regard.

So is there a guild roster mod out there that would allow the user to submit their own data and be able to keep it updated that can integrate into integramod easily? If not is their a guild roster php software that may be able to satisfy my needs and I can just add it somehow to the board (i.e. forwarding link or maybe somehow keeping the Board Navigation block on the page)

It still comes as a surprise to me that with all the MMORPG sites out there that there are still very few roster MODs available. There is the WoW MOD, and if I can find it I should be able to change the fields to match Final Fantasy XI.

I know that MrDSL had finished the wow mod integration and I had it on my HDD before it decided to blow itself up. If anyone has it I'd really appretiate a download link <img>

I'm going try installing this wow mod on a dummy forum just to see what the end result is before I could even askfor field changes and such ^^; But thank you though.

Random question now is this mod installed on any current forum that I can take a look at? If not it goes onto my dummy forum lol

Alright well after some easy work (pretty easy to install) I installed it onto my dummy forum and I like it but I don't know how well it'd work for FFXI. Mainly in how the information is displayed

So maybe it can be modified and maybe with the help of the community here I can certainly see it working for my needs.

So the fields in the mod are

Character Name
PVP Rank
Level
Class
Race
Professions.

For FFXI related its a little different and by a little I mean alot.

For starters with 1 character your able to level any job on that 1 character and all you need to do is change jobs. There are 18 jobs in total and you can get all 18 to max level on one character.

Professions or crafts in FFXI once again similar you can take 1 craft to skill 100 and the rest to 60

I'm not to sure if its easy enough to add something like this to the mod. But in general what I am looking for is something like

The end result of the WOW mod shows this

Forum Name > Character Name > PVP Rank > Level > Class > Race> Profession

What I'd like FFXI roster to look like is

Forum Name > Character Name > Nation > Jobs & Levels > Race > Crafts

So when the user goes to enter information Instead of PVP Rank choices they get the following for Nation

Sandoria
Bastok
Windurst

Jobs and Lvls I'd like the Job names to be static basically just another field to enter. Jobs would be like

WAR [ ] MNK [ ]
WHM [ ] BLM [ ]
RDM [ ] THF [ ]
PLD [ ] DRK [ ]
BST [ ] BRD [ ]
RNG [ ] SAM [ ]
NIN [ ] DRG [ ]
SMN [ ] COR [ ]
BLU [ ] PUP [ ]

[ ] repersents the field where the user enters their level

Then have it displayed the same way on the actual roster page

Crafting is similar except it'd be

Fishing
Woodworking
Smithing
Goldsmithing
Clothcraft
Leathercraft
Bonecraft
Alchemy
Cooking

Once again with an empty box for the person to fill in their skill level for each.

Naturally I just want it on the roster page. So don't need it in a profile or on each post under the user's avatar.

Anyways I'm sorry for the length of this post but based on what I want and based on my knowledge pretty much being zero, is this feasible to do?

Finally I also get a small error to when i add character or change info on a character on the dummy forum i get this debug error at the top of the page

Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/content/e/l/i/elizza/html/des/db/mysql4.php on line 540

Any idea what it means ^^;

Once again thank you all for your time and paitence in helping me it is greatly appreciated.

I let my nickname expire so I lost the channel and that was the main reason why I had a website so after I won't be paying for anymore hosting. So ya pretty soon it will just shut down.

Does anyone have this mod? I need a roster for my LoTRO Kinship site and this sounds like it would be something I could mod to fit my purposes.

Thanks in advance,
Omni-Lee
