I've installed IM Portal but now when on the forums and I click Forum Index the link takes you back to the Homepage (Portal) It is supposed to take you back to the Forum Index page

I didn't even see a portal on your site?

He had other problems with it so he removed it, out of curiosity - what would be the answer?

I could only assume that if you click the index link and it took you to the portal page...

1) the link has the wrong code edits done to it..

2) you have a .htaccess file that maybe redirecting you...

You only need to do that edit to you page_header.php if you wish to create a link to portal.php in your menu.

And on that redirect issue, I agree with foundit. Sounds like a incorrect edit or a .hta file redirecting.

Ok guys i think i've installed it ok now but i don't understand why when clicking on Index it takes me to the homepage? it should take me to the forum index

Clicking on index will take you to the forum board page which is your forum index, clicking on portal will take you to the front "Home" page

This edit id for subSilver. Other templates will require different coding to work properly. I chose this edit due to your screenshot being subSilver.

That will take you to your portal page instead of index. Allways remember as said above by the other user, index.php = your forum. portal.php = Home page.
