CBACK CrackerTracker has detected a potential attack on this site with a worm or exploit .script so the Security System stopped the .script.

errors are throughout the control panel.
mass email and pm - won't let me.
cracker tracker logmanager - click delete all log files won't let me
users adding location to profile - won't let them

i have used phpbb for a while, but this is the first time i have used im141. i really like the features, but i am not impressed at all with the cracker tracker utility. if there is a way to turn it off (i don't think there is) or cripple it i would do it and take my chances.

ps. i have been reading the posts here and there doesn't seem to be any real explication on "how to" re the admin panel, and all the functions. i am very good at understanding written ins ructions, cut and paste code, etc. if some one would point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

ps. i am not promoting my site, but anyone with experience can drop in and ill give them admin access to see what i mean. the site is still in development stage and not open to the public until we figure all of this stuff out. i have to make some more mods (add bbcode to stream flv, add url to my streaming radio station, etc)

Check the chmod for the ct folders/files, you may have a setting wrong.
What version of CT are you running, have you updated to the latest version?
Have you done any of the debugs?

CT is really good at what it does but it has a price, you need to kind of teach or setup
how you wish it to handle files that are new to it. In our case we use a lot of mods that CT doesn't know this can make some work setting it up to cover you site.

no debugs. (not familiar enough with the system to know how to do that.)

Was figuring out how to set up attachment area and did notice when adding de.scriptions to file types certain words would activate CT. changing those words or one letter in the spelling resulted in completion of task. so I am starting to see how "sensitive" it can be. (i wonder if the coders are women lol).

i stll do not see how that would keep me from sending a mass email. the settings for the mass email/pm are vanilla. when i check the two people i want to pm, click the button, then i get the msg.

guess ill have to mess with it a bit.

You can use this to learn/do the debug, on 506 you will need to ftp the debug log to access it as it's not accessed from admin any more.

i had previously looked at that topic, but i guess while trying to digest all the new info i didn't bookmark it as important.

btw - i locked down my site and test site, because one of my admins was reading other peoples pm's. anyway i delted him and banned his ip. on all my sites.

You can use "jr admin" for that just give what access they need. I don't like giving access to security, pm's and pcp.

If you still have issues when using debug you can post your file name and debug info. A lot of good people in here ,they will post what post what fixes they have for your problem files.

i had 2 admins and myself at full access because we are new to im141, and never thought he would do something like that. oh well live and learn. glad it came about sooner than later. anyway he is toast. there are plenty of other places he can go hang out.
