If anyone has applied the hacks and updates for the security, I would sure appreciate being able to download a copy for a clean install.
I had hacker files all over the place.... wasn't sure what I could delete and what I couldn't. So I copied the root and the database. Figure I can reinstall, then upload the database. Pull out images/movies and the such from my root copy and be back in business. <img>
If not it'll be 4 or 5 sets of updates to get a current (secure) setup again.

If anyone is interested I applied security patches "rev 05" to the upgrade package. The only other modifications are:
1) it is packaged as a tar ball instead of zip. 2) All the script files have been converted to unix format (dos2unix - to get rid of the ugly CTRL-M's at the end of the lines in some files).
It is ready to use and located [url=ftp]HERE[/url].

I used the file I posted by the instructions. I ran the update scripts through my existing installation and when it came to step 5 (or 6?), I installed the new files from the tarball, copied the avatars, upload files, etc. into the new directory, ran the chmod's and copied in config.php. worked well, like sh*t through a goose. no previous phpBB installation necessary.

Almost back up and running. Shoutbox was back, removed it again. Side to side scroll bars were back, fixed that again.
I lost my extra Qbar menu at the top - NOT fixed. I also need to edit my BBcode to remove the [you] feature. (Heavily abused on my site) also not fixed yet.
I really think that's it. I did have to clear a lot of cache files to get everything back up and running.
