All Acounts Locked after upgrade

What was done before the problem appeared?
Upgraded IMPortal to 1.4.1 with the phpbb_to_1.4.1 .script.


What was done to try to solve the problem?
Nothing, I'm at a total loss

Just as the above says, I took my IMPortal to 1.4.1 with no errors at all during the upgrade. Now once it is complete I try to login with the founder account and I get "account locked"

I try to login with a different account, also "account locked". So it seems that all of my accounts on my boards (currently testing it on local machine with xampp before updating the live board) are locked out.

Is there any more to the account locked error message? There are a few different mods installed that will block and each one has a different message. If we can narrow it down to which one it is, it might be easier to fix.

You had IM Portal installed on your phpBB and didn't get any "duplicate table error" sql messages while updating? You should have gotten these since the IM Portal tables should already exist.

Since ALL of the accounts are locked I'm unsure of how to proceed.

As far as the duplicates, nope, none.

You can try this query in phpmyadmin, it unlocks all users.

Nope, didn't work. Also, even before I ran the the query the phpBBSecurity_login_tries was already set to 1 on all accounts.

I still get the same error after running the query.

I went into the user table and updated the founder to now include the security answer and question (just inputed normal text, didn't add anything to the Function column). However when I go to unlock the account I get an error stating

I'm sorry, it should be set to 0 not 1.

I have the exact same issue, and after using the suggested fix, still all accounts are locked. When a user inputs their name and email address to unlock it, it says it is wrong (even if it is correct)

Additionally, I went into the database and by hand put in my password and security answer. I then tried to login, and answered correctly. IT told me my name was now unlocked. I try to login again, and its back to being locked.

Yes, I am using a local server to test it out on before I put it up on my live server, especially since there seems to be alot of issues with the CrackerTracker.

If I change the settings (which I'm still unsure what I should be looking for to fix) will they impact the site once I transfer it from my local to my live?

I followed instructions on the phpbb site. Basically you just type in plain text and change the value type to something else, md5 or something, I dont remember exactly.

Anyway, I just did a clean install of integra 141, then I took the sql dump of my old site and inserted everything I could by hand. The only problem was there were a handful of things missing from the phpbb_users table so I had to go through each of those. Once that was done it was working perfectly.

It was not a lot of users, the only two things that were large really were the amt of posts and the text of posts. Thats just one quick cut and paste of a huge block as opposed to a cut and paste of a smaller block of sql. No big deal!

jbl...is there an easy way to do that? my board has been up for a couple of years and has about 100 users with close to about 1000 or more pics in dozens of different albums.

We do not give or sell our themes at the moment, we'll maybe sell them (for a democratic price) if we have a real demand but at at the moment nothing, anyway for the rest you you can always ask I share my IM hacks on demand <img>

Still having this issue? Only thing I can think of at the moment is that everyone is in the banlist, although you're not quite getting the message I think you would be.

You can try the following SQL which will empty the banlist table, which will also unban all users you want to ban. Of coarse, that's better then not being able to access your forums.

Nah I just cut and pasted directly from the SQL user table of the plan phpbb forum into the new version. I guess one of the missing rows was causing every user to be locked because even if they answered the security questions it wasnt updating parts of the table because they werent there. Or I could be wrong <img>

i got the same problem but only with some users. People who join my forum were told that they are banned. but bannedlist etc. is completly empty. so i tried Teelk option ..

Not sure what the problem was, but I've got it working now. I completely deleting everything including the database and trying again. But this time instead of going from IMPortal to 141, I went IMPortal to IM140 and upgraded to IM141 and all is well.

Not sure what the problem was, I'm guessing due to using my home machine for the testing purposes instead of the actual server.

I get the feeling that the update .script does not correctly update the phpbb_config table.

How many rows should be in this table ?

I am having this issue after upgrading phpBB 2.0.22 to IM141.

Our version of phpBB 2.0.22 was stock, no addons that I am aware of.

I fixed the minical issues that several people were experiencing by updating the values in teh database.

Even after running the SQL query to set the login tries to 0 they are still locked.

I have added in a security question and hashed answer within the database. If I go thru the procedure to unlock an account it thanks me for unlocking it, but when I go to login again it still says that we exceeded the attempts. I've searched the forums thru and thru. I'm at a loss, any help is much appreciated.

I'm stuck with exactly the same issue! I traced the calls back and it comes down to line 159 of phpbb_security.php:

The comment above it reads:

I tried the truncate method - nothing! I also tried replacing the security questions and answers with both text and with hashes - still nothing!!

Fortunately, this is all on my test site, not on the live site, but even so, I'm spending hours on end going through lines of code trying to figure out a resolution for it - if anyone has a short answer, I'd love to hear it!!!

Edit: The mystery deepens! The code in phpbb_security.php at line 160 calls for a language line which is being incorrectly displayed!  It [u]should[/u] read: [code]$lang['PS_security_force']           = 'Sorry, it appears this is your first visit since we added the security questions to accounts. To make it more interesting, commenting out the calling line produces the same erroneous error message! ... still working on it!

phpbb_banlist was truncated per previous suggestions, it contains zero rows.

I'm now at a point where I get the login screen at the main portal. Logging in takes me back to the exact same screen. I tried modifying the address bar to include the "?mode=register&sub=registering&sid=" from the error message quoted above and it goes to the login.php screen with the redirect. Logging in takes me to the same screen, with the redirect still in the address bar:[code]http]

I didn't truncate it, it ends with 'msub=' - the sid is gone. I suspect that this is from the force_required() function in functions_profile.php - still working on picking that apart to follow the logic in it.

Thanks mate I was browsing for help to unlock my Admin account and I found it here and it worked first time.
This is the line I used in the phpMyAdmin query:

UPDATE phpbb_users SET phpBBSecurity_login_tries = '1' WHERE user_id > '-2';
