iCGStation for 140

PostAuthor: tmotley » Mon Mar 27, 2006 3:03 am

Helter Skelter posted this great theme recently on previous integramod site.

I'm having some technical issues. Here's my laundry list. Any help would be appreciated.

Ongoing Issues:

1. There are white squares in Firefox and gray squares in IE around the red, yellow, and blue card buttons. How can I eliminate those? There are *.gif versions included. How can I use them?

2. In Firefox, center portal blocks are fine. In IE, the content is slightly chopped off. I have cleared cache and it isn't fixed.

3. Mini-Calendar gave errors but I just removed it. I think I remember someone talking about a fix by copying fisubice's mini-calendar block? I copied mini-calender 2 body tpl but it was too wide and the #4 issue was still there...

4. In IE, regular Calendar is showing red X's on the right and left arrows. I can't tell what image is missing... In Firefox, images are missing but you don't notice because I don't see red X's. Viewing source I see that the image is not being defined. It says the url of the image is the page url.

5. Staff page is missing content in both Firefox and IE. I replaced the staff.php with fisubice's and appears to have fixed it.

6. When you haven't voted on a poll yet, the page is messed up. Once you vote, it appears normal.

7. In Memberlist, there is the same issue as my #4 only with the sorting down arrow. It does show on my Username column but not any others.

8. I'm missing the Quick Reply feature.I replaced viewtopic_body with one from fisubice. Got QR back. Is there a problem with just replacing it? EDIT - switched back because fisubice viewtopic_body messed up poll display page. How to get QR?

Red text are my attempted fixes or added issues.

Helter will post later, the problems should be fixed soon.

H, I am available to support <img> Just need a copy of 1.4.1 and the theme. (I have it for 1.3.2 I think)

More information on #4 Issue:

It's messing up the mini-calendar block that appears on the index page, not the main calendar.

On the KisMod demo 140 site, here's the code from source for the back-one-month button:

Code: Select all
<a><img></a>

Here's the same code from my site's source]<a><img>
There's the exact same discrepancy for the forward a month button.

As you can see, my site is not assigning the image url for the button, whereas the demo site is. What file is responsible for assigning that url? I'm struggling here.

I'd venture a guess that the problem is similar for my memberlist sort image issue. I've about worn myself ragged. That's what happens when you're as clueless as I am.

Issue #6 : Can't tell since can't create poll on Demo Site.
Issue #7 : Can't tell since I can't log in on Demo Site.
Issue #8 : Can't tell since I can't log in to use QR on Demo Site.
Issue #9 : Can't tell since ShoutBox isn't viewable on Demo Site.

In regards to Issue 8....Dont think it would have been the best idea to replce the viewtopic_body, as each one would be differnet for each theme....

And because of the way iCGstation is designed, it is surely different from iCGstation.....

I dont know how to fix this. They are not in the images. The squares are boarders, but I have defined all borders to be off inless assigned other wise. The reason they are .png's is that I had the problem with the gifs and was trying to fix it (didnt work...lol)

2. In Firefox, center portal blocks are fine. In IE, the content is slightly chopped off. I have cleared cache and it isn't fixed.

IE and FF read table info diferently. IE is very picky about % widths in <TD> tags. Ill look into it and get back to you on this

3. Mini-Calendar gave errors but I just removed it. I think I remember someone talking about a fix by copying fisubice's mini-calendar block? I copied mini-calender 2 body tpl but it was too wide and the #4 issue was still there...

I have been struggling with this one since I firs ported it. It is fine in FF. I think this is another issuer where IE is not recognizing a table width somewhere

4. In IE, regular Calendar is showing red X's on the right and left arrows. I can't tell what image is missing... In Firefox, images are missing but you don't notice because I don't see red X's. Viewing source I see that the image is not being defined. It says the url of the image is the page url.

open iCGstation.cfg
Find
Code: Select all
 $images['mini_cal_icon_left_arrow'] = "";$images['mini_cal_icon_right_arrow'] = "";

Replace with

Code: Select all
 $images['mini_cal_icon_left_arrow'] = "$current_template_images/icon_left.png";$images['mini_cal_icon_right_arrow'] = "$current_template_images/icon_right.png";

5. Staff page is missing content in both Firefox and IE. I replaced the staff.php with fisubice's and appears to have fixed it.

this is the correct fix. To add the correct images to it. open it up and find

Code: Select all
<table>     <tr>         <td>{L_STAFF_TITLE}</td>     </tr>   <tr>     <td><a>{L_INDEX}</a>{NAV_SEPARATOR}{L_STAFF_TITLE}</td>   </tr>     </table>

and replace with

Code: Select all
 <table><tr><td><img></td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr><td><span><a>{L_INDEX}</a></span></td><td><img></td></tr></table><br><table><tr><td><img></td><td><span></span></td><td><img></td></tr></table>

6. When you haven't voted on a poll yet, the page is messed up. Once you vote, it appears normal.

not sure yet

Im sorry I have gotten behind on this, but between work and setting up this site, I hardly have time to sleep <img>

I'm patient since it's very functional and extremely nice looking.

Mini-calendar fix worked perfectly. Staff_body.tpl fix worked perfectly. THANK YOU!

I would sure like that Quick Reply to work though... <img>

BTW, on the demo site, it might be nice to allow membership but with no real privileges so people could see what different parts look like... for example, memberlist, quick reply, posting window, polls, etc. I was trying to see if the demo was more functional than my site but couldn't tell since my account was activated.

I'd just like to say that I'm very pleased with Integramod and you folks do a wonderful job. Thanks for all your hard work. Since discovering IM in February, I've learned a lot and have a nice little website with minimal hassle. THANK YOU! Get some sleep... you've earned it!

I fixed my Problem #7.

Here's how:

Open iCGStation.cfg

Find:
Code: Select all
$images['up_arrow']             = "$current_template_images/icon_up_arrow.gif";$images['down_arrow']           = "$current_template_images/icon_down_arrow.gif";

Add after]$images['next_arrow']             = "$current_template_images/next.gif";
That did the trick!

Anybody have a Quick Reply fix for iCGStation?

trm

Updated iCGStation Issues:

1. Borders on red, yellow, blue cards still irksome. I can live with it though.

2. Content on center blocks slightly chopped off on right side using IE but is fine in Firefox. I'm using Firefox so I don't really care but a majority of my students/members use IE.

3. Don't use calendar block on portal now so I don't care about this now.

6. Topic page is still messed up on polls that haven't been voted on. The top post is put at the bottom of a widened left column while the poll question and voting options appear in the right column. Interestingly, it appears correctly when NOT LOGGED IN but messes up when LOGGED IN. I'll post a screen shot if it would help.

8. Quick Reply feature is missing from iCGStation theme. I would REALLY like this solved but I really am at a loss where to start looking.

9. Shout box bottom is still messed up on index but NOT on portal page. Not a major issue but irksome.

ORDER OF URGENCY:

#8, #6, all others are either fixed or non-urgent... at least for tmotley! <img>

I am experiencing issue #4 also, but in addition there is an always present "Happy Birthday!" notification in the calendar box with no username specified. Issue is not apparent on the forum calender box (on the forum index)

These are really the last two bugs in iCGstation for me - I have quick reply box working (I don't remember how i fixed it, i'll look it up for you tmotley)

for examples of both, my forums are http://students.collegiumv.com

I would appreciate any QR help I can get! Thanks in advance. I checked out your site and noticed issues that I fixed with HelterSkelter's instructions:

Expand HelterSkelter's quote of me in his post on Tue Mar 28, 2006 8:36 pm

It tells how to get the previous and next month images to show on mini-calendar and also how to get the staff page to have the iCGStation graphics.

I don't know why it's saying the Happy Birthday! message but there seems to be a missing assignment of the happy_birthday.gif image. In IE, it shows a red x.

Do you have the poll issue I have? When a poll is posted, there's a funky page layout until you vote on it...

Yes, i have that same poll issue.

The happy birthday picture isn't visible to people that haven't logged in, along with all the other pictures (set in config board, although i'm not sure why it applies to that picture also) so if you log in, it is visible.
