Another way would be to create a new user with a generic password first.

Now log into PHPmyadmin and in the phpbb_users table, find this new user and copy the MD5 hash that is in the "password" field of the new user.

Now, find your admin account and paste the MD5 hashed password into the password field for the user. Once you save this change, your admin password will be the same as the password you set for the new user. Log in and change your password, and change the email address back.

The best - and probably only way - is to go through phpmyadmin, backup and delete your username.

Check that no other user has the admin rights, then register as a new user and give to that user the admin rights.

You should be able to regain control of your board. Check that your tables are not compromised, that it that the person who hacked your username did not gain access to the SQL tables...

hi,
is their any way in getting my pass back, i cant reset it as the e-mail address was chhanged. i need help urgently before everything is deleted
