Fresh install and import old phpBB DB?

ok i think i have a clue, is it possible to upgrade my old forum so that the DB is ready to use? and after that create a new install so that i have the clean files and import the DB after that into the fresh forum?

don't think we understand eachother, i want to use a clean/fresh install off integramod and import some tables from my old forum but... the tables are a little bit different so they have to be updated.

my current forum is a littlebit a mess with a lot of files that don't belong there, and as it is spring, i wan't to clean it or better make a new start and import important things, like posts and users...

What your're asking seems impractical. Existing db tables and files would have to be updated inorder to accomodate a new system. How else would the new system get installed ontop of your existing data if files and tables were not updated?

Can anybody help me with this? i really want integra mod installed but i also want a clean install without updating files etc. Because it always means troubles... I just want my users table, posts, forums and maybe attachements...

is there a tool to prepare my current DB for use with integramod? or a migrate tool or something like that?
