it is very possible your host has limited this. Try the test using only 10 users. If it is successfull then youll know it is a host limitation

There is a mass mail script, compatible with Integramod that you can set up to send how ever many e-mails you want, in sessions, so that it can get past the spam filters.

I just cant seem to find it right nowÃƒÆ’Ã‚ ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦.

I know my site mail settings....
and have tried them.... mail works when I send a PM... the site sends out the notification without any problem... but the mass mail does not work.

if the sending via php doesn't work then that means that your host disabled sending mail through php... and you should send email trough smtp... Alot of hosts will disable mailing through php...

you should be able to find your smtp mail server in your website control panel. it will be something like mail.yoursite.com

I have no idea, sorry.

If your host allows, you might want to try to use the smtp, one downfall with that, at-least in past versions is you get a smtp error while posting if the mail host goes down.

I even Googled, and only found that there is allot of unsolved phpbb email problems out there.

Again, sorry I cant help you, mabe someone else has some idea...

I've turned on the "Send Mail via board", and tried with and without SMTP

now I get a new eroor

General Error
Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 550 5.5.2 Unknown command 'AUTH LOGIN'

The site does not allow users to send email via the board...

when PMs go out the site sends email to the recipient of pending PMs via email... no problem there.

I use a paid host provider...the site is a hobby site... I do not charge users a dime for anything or even ask that they donate anything for the cause.

I have SMPT turned off too

did i cover everything?

I just tried sending out a mass email to my users and got the following error

General Error
Failed sending email :: PHP ::

I have just recently done a fresch install of phpBB 2.0.21 with the 1.0.3 security update... and then installed the 140 IM and implimented the security patches that mike posted (rev5)

everthing else on the site seems ot be working fine.

one note I have NEVER been able to get this to work with any version I have tried.

I need to get word out to my users of the site change from one folder to another.

Any help with this greatly appreciated.
