QuickQuote problem

Well Adrian, it was only brought to my attention within the last month or so, but I know it was happening before the ? mark fix. So I don't feel that caused it.

I was just looking at this in your other post. http://integramod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1554#1554 I uspect it may have something to do with this edit. Make sure it was made correctly. If you return it to it's previous state does the quick quote problem go?

K...good to know. Its just that is what I noticed in Dreamweaver. I appreciate all the help though, and I know together we can figure this out right?

do not trust Dreamweaver, or use its html optimzing functions. It is well known that wysiwig html editors, including Dreamweaver, write bad code.
I get errors telling me that this line break
is an invalid xml tag

Thanks Adrian. I'm pretty sure I haven't really done any edits or updates. The only thing I can think of is that I fixed the ? marks that came up all over the place, otherwise I'm pretty sure its stock IM.

Looking further on the site, I see that the quickquote problem is only on the viewtopic page. When you reply to a thread the quickquote there comes up without issue.

what edits/updates have you made since first install?

OK...here is what I've learned (I think). I am assuming the problem is in viewtopic.php. So I grabbed it off the server, looked around where the error says it is and have some errors in Dreamweaver there.

Line number On/Off | Expand/Contract | Select all

Dreamweaver tells me that its an Invalid Markup and that its Marked invalid because its an overlapping or unclosed tag. However, I do see the close tag. Am I in the right direction anyway??

LOL...yea Adrian. I guess something I was doing yesterday overloaded the server (which has never happened) and my account was temp suspended til midnight last night. Its up and running again, and I've undone what I was working on yesterday. Site is up again. I appreciate your help.

Well...anybody have anything on this? In IE, I get the above message when Quick Quote is clicked, in Firefox I get nothing. It seems to work just fine here though, and I'm using Firefox.

So one of my users noticed this has been happening lately on my site..say the last week or so. I never noticed since I have never used the QuickQuote feature. When you click it, nothing happens. There is an error presented by IE down on the status bar, and when clicked to see the error, this is what I get:

Anybody have a fix for this?
