Integramod Lite Version?

If you do not mind me asking, whatever happen to the Integramod Lite version?? I like to see that one more than the regular one because it is too heavily modded.

This problem should be solved with the next generation insofar as, the basic package will only contains essential modifications as with the original install IntegraMOD, all other mods will be plug and play...

This feature is catered for by the phpBB3 core and implemented as part of the portal core... Each mod designer must provide an install and remove function to deal with the database installation and removal... The trick will be to get all mods communicating with each other as is partially implemented with the current IntegraMod.

The plug and play aspect involves the administrator making the decision to add or remove modules and the systems ability to pass data between installed modules.

In the past most mods installed on your system required alterations/edits to be made at the core level, often these did more harm than good when it came to updating the package... Our aim is to effectively disallow editing of the core and still obtain the same functionality.

Obviously, there will be certain mods that require editing of the core in order to achieve the desired result. These types of modifications are pretty much frowned upon by the phpBB development and support staff, not to mention those of use here who have to fix things or do updatesà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦ My guess is they will remain part and parcel of all bulletin boards for the foreseeable futureà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦ I guess we will have to à¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€¹Ã…“Find and Replace for some time to comeà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦

The addition of the facility to include any file in your html (previously tpl) files added to the facilities provided by the module methods, should go a long way to reduce the need for anyone to edit the core code in any future modà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦

At the end of the day there will be two types of mods... those that don't edit the core and those that do... you decide which to install, after all it's your web...
