I was wondering if anyone has any info on this mod being used on 1.4.1? I was thinking of trying it out and wanted to know if there were any known issues. Will it work with 1.4.1? Any comments on how it works?
Thanks.

Here you go, it works in a fashion apart from:
- BBCodes such as Quote, etc fail
http://www.mail2forum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2079I wish it could be made compatible as we've used it for years! The author is not interested in supporting non-vanilla PhpBBS though.

Has anyone succesfully made m2f work with IM 141? I have done numerous searches and consulted people across several forums, but I have not found any resources for getting the two to work together. I don't have any measurable .scripting skills, so trying it on my own has been completely unsuccesful.
Any/all help would be greatly appreciated!

Its working fien for me now, I solved the BBcode promblem by replacing the contents of:
template/<My>/admin/m2f_html_email_body.tpl
with the bbcode used on board the forum. Solved all my issues on one fell swoop.

Thanks for the response. When you installed, did you do it manually or with something like EasyMod? Did you just follow the m2f install instructions verbatim (aside from the BBcode part), or did you have to do some modifications?

It was installed manually as very few edits of the core IM files are required. No other mods were needed apart from the BBCode change.

Still no luck. I went through it again and installed m2f manually. Although the installation didn't seem to break anything in IM141, there is no indication anywhere in the menus or ACP that m2f exists. I wish I had the patience to see this through but I have tried so many times, gotten advice from so many people, and nothing seems to work. If there is any kind soul who'd be willing to set up m2f for me, I would be eternally grateful for your assistance and I would sing your praises from the rooftops. Otherwise I am resigned to go with a vanilla phpBB site with m2f, as it 's the only thing I can manage to get working.
Thanks to everyone who has tried to help, it is much appreciated.

Hi
When manually adding files to the admin folder also remember to add the same files to admin/modules then you will see everything as you should in the ACP...
I hope that helps...

Hopefully it will, just no time here to assist I'm afraid.

Okay, I finished feeling sorry for myself and I'm ready to give it another try. <img>
I think one of the problems was that I was using an older version of m2f. I've now got v1.2.6 and I am reading through the install guide (m2f_phpbb20x.txt).

Also, tekguru, can you elaborate? I'm not clear what you mean by 'bbcode used on the board forum.' Is there a .script (or section of .script) that I should cut/paste into
m2f_html_email_body.tpl? Or do I delete the file and replace it with another file entirely?
Thanks.

found it, I added the following to the admin/modules folder per your instructions:
admin_m2f.phpI see mail 2 forum on the ACP, but when I go to Mailing Lists, I get the following error:
Template->make_filename(): Error - template file not found: admin/m2f_mailinglists.tpl

Hrm. It occurs to me that I may not be copying the m2f folders and files to the right directories. Thoughts?

if you get a Template->make_filename(): Error then the files are not in the the correct folder...for example if you are using a different theme then you must place those files in that template file....
this is telling you that m2f_mailinglists.tplis not in
your template/admin folder I hope that helps..

I think the problem may be that I am copying the m2f template files to subSilver as instructed, but IM141 is defaulted to the Integra2 style. I'm trying to figure out how to switch over to subSilver but the eXtreme Styles section has me completely confused...

Yep you need to copy the templates into the templete structure you are using.

Aha!!! I looks like I may have got it. I still need to actually test the functionality, but all ACP items are appearing as they should. I will report back if I get it up and running. Thank you all!!!

Now I have a few problems:
1) When I switched to my subSilver template, the Board Navigation block disappeared.
2) I created a couple forums which are visible from the admin panel but they do not appear when I [url=http]view the forums[/url] as a user.
3) If I log out and look at the portal site, pretty much everything has [url=http]disappeared[/url].
Any thoughts on what I've done wrong?

Okay, I'm
really really close. I've got everything working on the ACP side. The forum/portal appears to be working. The one thing I am missing is a mail2forum link on the nav bar, or at the top of the page (up where Home / Forum / Memberlist / Usergroup appears) so people can subscribe to the mailing lists.
As far as I can tell, I just need to know which file(s) to edit to make the m2f link appear, and how to enter that link in the .script. In a vanilla install of phpbb, the install .script asks you to do the following to the overall header:
- Code: Select all
# #-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------ # templates/subSilver/overall_header.tpl # #-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------ # <a></a> ##-----[ BEFORE, ADD ]------------------------------------------# <IFRAME><Alternate></IFRAME> # #-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------ # <td> # #-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------ # <span> # #-----[ IN-LINE AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------ # <a><img>{L_SUBSCRIPTIONS}</a>
But the overall_header.tpl file has neither
<a></a> nor
<td> in the Integramod version of subSilver. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Okay, I figured out how to get the m2f to display in the QBar. One minor cosmetic issue: How do I get an icon to display next to it? In the ACP --> QBar I was able to add a heading, if I edit that heading, there's a section that says:
Icon
Icon url or key to the images array.
(check templates/your_template/your_template.cfg)
I just need to know the proper data to enter into the field to get the following to appear:
myforum/templates/subSilver/images/pip.gif
Thanks!

If you want it to match the other pips in the same qbar, I'd guess that this would be it...
nav_menu

Thanks tmotley, I tried that. The icon shows up in the ACP --> QBar menu but not on the nav bar. Not a big deal at the moment:
I realize I have a bigger problem: I get the m2f mail sub.scription page if I'm logged in as the admin, but if I log in as another user, I still get Template->make_filename(): Error - template file not found: m2f_usercp.tpl when I click on Sub.scriptions.
I am sooooo close to getting this resolved. Any suggestions?

Figured it out -- I just had to force the template to subSilver for all users, and the error went away. Other than the minor issue of the nav_bar icon not appearing in the Nav Bar, everything appears to be working. Success!
I really appreciate everyone's input and support. Looks like my site will finally be ready to launch soon. Thank you thank you thank you!

I got everything set up and working and now I get an error whenever I login/logout. Because of this I can't access the ACP. I deleted everything and did a fresh install and the problem persists. I realize I posted this in another forum but I realize since that thread is marked as (finished), people might ignore it.
I have another forum with the same host service and I can acess it fine, so it's not an issue with the service provider. I thought it might be an issue with cookies but I deleted all my cookies and the problem persists.
The problem seemed to start arbitrarily, the only change I made following the install that I can think of was to use the ACP to change the Integramod image in the upper left corner with one I added myself.

Has anybody else encountered this problem? I just wiped the whole thing, did a fresh install, got everything working. Then I logged out and tried to log back in again and I get the same login issue. It's ironic that I can finally get m2f working, but then the ACP becomes inaccessible.
Are there and CTracker or other security-related aspects that might be causing this?
Please help!

I've been doing a little thinking and trying to trace my installation steps, which are basically this:
1) Clean install of IM141
2) Login
3) Poke at the forum to test functionality
4) Apply file changes for M2F
5) Adjust ACP settings
6) Logout
7) Poke at the forum to test functionality (which is where I get login errors)
I think the problem is when I switch over to subSilver, which is the template I have adjusted for M2F. Somewhere I'm changing/omitting something that breaks the login process. I'm thinking possibly one of the follwing:
/login.php
/login_security.php
myforum/admin/index.php
myforum/templates/subSilver/login_body.tpl
myforum/templates/subSilver/login_security.tpl
Now M2F install instructions doesn't specifically mention these, but I'm wondering if there is an implicit change I need to make inorder to fix logging in. Again, the symptoms are:
- Error page when logging in
- Refreshing the main page shows that I am successfuly logged in
- Repeat of error when I try to login to ACP
- Refreshing the main page doesn't help, I'm locked out of admin access
The one M2F install instruction I ignored was the following:
- Code: Select all
# #-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------ # templates/subSilver/overall_header.tpl # #-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------ # <a></a> ##-----[ BEFORE, ADD ]------------------------------------------# <IFRAME><Alternate></IFRAME> # #-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------ # <td> # #-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------ # <span> # #-----[ IN-LINE AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------ # <a><img>{L_SUBSCRIPTIONS}</a>
The Integramod version of subSilver uses a overall_header.tpl that's structured differently. It does not contain the lines
<a></a> or
<td>, but something tells me this is not the cause of the problem.
Another thought - could this login problem be the result of incorrect CHMOD/permission settings on one or more of the files? Or maybe cookies? I deleted all my cookies but still get the same error. Maybe I've got some incorrect cookie settings in the ACP?

Has anyone used the Auto Cookies Mod with IM141? I'm going to try applying it this week in hopes that it will address my admin/login issue...

I'm almost hesitant to post for fear of jinxing the whole thing, but it appears that applying the cookies mod has solved the login problem...
