Please point me to 132 to 140 upgrade information

PostAuthor: kyber » Thu Apr 27, 2006 2:01 am

I have not had time to follow things for a while. I did try an upgrade several months ago - which seemed very manual at the time - but failed to get it to work. It seemed that many others were in the same situation.

I cannot now see the information on how to do the upgrade. I am hoping that this has now been largely automated or that there is a way to do a clean install and copy over the data from the old forum.

If anyone has the time and skills to do the update for me, obviously I would pay for their time, I would be delighted.

Thanks for the pointer but that provides information about protection of the existing forum whilst playing with a new version. It does not provide the instructions on upgrading from 132 to 140.

Kyber: just so that we're on the same page, you want to upgrade from 1.32 to 1.40 correct? You can do this by downloading from here. I have included the ReadMe.txt below to let you know what is involved. Hope that helps.

install instructions

BACKUP FIRST YOUR SITE AND DATABASE

upload db_update.php, db_update2.php and db_update3.php to the root of you website.

run db_update.php and click next at the bottom of the page.

becareful at the last page, don't forget to add the 3 lines into /includes/php_security.php

it is possible that you see some errors about tables that allready exist, don't worry about that.

now download integramod 1.4.0 and upload all files exept

config.php
/cache/
/var_cache/
/includes/def_xxx.php (def_qbar.php you have to upload this file)
/mods/netclectic/mini_cal

update is complete now enjoy integramod 1.4.0

Sean thank you. I have now updated a test site and am starting to work my around the many options.

There were so many threads previously about the upgrade and problems that I wanted to be sure I was reading the right things now.

Thanks for the pointer.

No problem. Half the battle is just finding what you need. Good luck!

Hmmm looks as if that is no longer available as I get this message when trying to download that:

You can not download this file directly from another site!

there are a few bad links out there. if you follow one to this site the is "http://integramod.com" some of the links do not work. change your url to "http://www.integramod.com" in your browser and it will work. I know the pafile download system requires the "www" to work due to the server setup here.

ps. I lost all of Fubies images for that link, in one of the server moves, but the text is still intact
