upload avatar from a URL into my profile
I think that would only work as a linking to. To put it up you would need to download to your pc then up load the file to the server. There would be permission problems between the 2 sites.

It says upload from url. - my pic is on photobucket and I used the supplied url.
Maybe it won't work that way.

I guess that depends on the url... could be that the url actually is a .script that verifies something like direct linking?... dunno ... had the url a normal path? (ending with the filename and extension?

It gives you this as the url provided from phootobucket.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/ ... t-6000.jpgI guess I could download it on my pc and uploaded it the my site via ftp and then upload it the album itself, but seems like alot of work.
Would now be doing 3 steps instead of the easier 1.

Even if you work out the permission problems, are you sure you want to allow this in your forum? what if someone uses it to directly upload a "nasty" url?

If you worry too much about all these things... moderators won't have anything to do and if they want to direct-link inline they will!
Just moderate the forum properly! <img>
