I have taken over website administration as previous admin is gone.
I am planning on updated phpBB2 from 2.0.19 to 2.0.22.
We currently have IM Portal installed.

FIRST QUESTION:

I am looking for the best way to update phpBB2 while keeping IM Portal intact.

If I do the phpBB2 update, I suspect all existence of the portal will be gone and I will be left with whatever the standard look of the phpBB2 forums and template are.

If so, is it safe to say that if I go through the IM Portal installation instructions again to add the appropriate lines of code to the required files, that my IM Portal will be back working again (configuration, blocks, etc)?


SECOND QUESTION:

Is there perhaps another way to do the forum upgrade with IM Portal that I am not aware of?


THIRD QUESTION:

We also have the following mods:

Admin User List
Calendar Lite (don't care if I lose this)
News Block Module: Slashdot Style News Posting By CMX
Smartor Photo Album
Smartor Chattbox

Would these for the most part be still functional after the upgrade?

As the upgrades for phpBB can be manually added if you do the files changes yourself you will not lose any mods that are already on your site including importal...

So you are talking about the "Code Changes" only update?

So, since I am sitting at v.19, I have to do the following updates individually?:

phpBB 2.0.19 to phpBB 2.0.20 Code Changes
phpBB 2.0.20 to phpBB 2.0.21 Code Changes
phpBB 2.0.21 to phpBB 2.0.22 Code Changes

Thats right

If you update your phpbb with the pre mdae file you have to install the mods again manually.....

Sometimes it is easier to do the phpbb updates by hand when you havnt got many mods installed...

How hard would it be to update from IM Portal to Integramod?

I see there is an Update package "phpBB to IntegraMOD 1.4.1 Update " and a full blown installation package. Since I already have IM Portal, Smartor Photo Album, Slash News Mod, and admin user list installed, would the Integramod "phpBB to IntegraMOD 1.4.1 Update " package be the best route for me to take?

To update isn't a problem at all the only thing you might have a few problems with is the database tables as for example the album tables are slightly different do you have a lot of members..?

and you might get duplicate tables but nothing to worry about....

just a bit of patience.

Also you can run a test server on your own comp using [url=http]wamp[/url] then you could copy your live site to your computer and do changes without messing up your live site...
