IntegraMOD 141 Public Beta RC1 is released!

PostAuthor: IntegraTeam » Fri Jul 07, 2006 2:42 pm

I am happy to announce the release of the Public Beta RC1 for IntegraMOD 141. This means it is the first beta, there may be more before a final release. You can download the new beta from the download section (link at the bottom of this post).

BEFORE YOU INSTALL -
The Beta release is for the purposes of finding and fixing issues before the final release. This means IT IS NOT for installing for use in a website for public use. DO NOT use it as such. NO SUPPORT will be given for any website running the beta. The purpose of the public beta is to increase the chance of finding faults, bugs and issues before the final release and thus making it more stable for final release.

Please only use the Public beta forum to discuss issues relating to the public beta. http://integramod.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=52 Official beta testers can still use the private development forum.

We hope you like the improvements.

So far I had just one problem on the install, but it was easly changed. I couldnt do the last install feature. Other than that it went smooth. Its on my home comp so I can check the themes, and such to see what has changed for me on the site. But I loved how fast it went. Although I am going to reinstall for the test of prillian. I think I saw a typo. I am going to double check. Love the mySQL5 compatibility

PostAuthor: Dr. Bantham » Fri Jul 07, 2006 6:33 pm

I have it installed and running smoothly. It was a nice surprise to see it released sooner than promised! The inclusion of Advanced BBCode Box was a great decision!

I have two questions:[list type=decimal][*]Will a separate patch for phpBB 2.0.21 be released for IM 1.4.0? I would imagine it may be some time before a final 1.4.1 release, not to mention it will take a lot of work on my part to re-integrate other mods and custom styles.[*]When will a database upgrade script be available? I am anxious to test things out with a copy of my current data.[/list]Thanks again, folks!

Hey there,

1. Update already released here... http://integramod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1489

2. I think that an update path will have to come with a final release or shortly before. This is because, to my knowledge anyway, there are going to be some major updates before final release.

Yeah, I was thinking of making a copy of my live database and seeing it if would work on top of it, is this likely?

I assume not?

I have added a few templates to the dl section for the 141 beta. Please do not use them for the purpose of reporting bugs. We really need to know that all reported bugs exist in the current 141 release and are not template related.
Thx

Zac if you have the ability to unzip on your server, this means a much faster upload and the chmod permissions are all in place. Check to see what your hosting allows as most offer the ability to unzip these days.

oh yeah now you tell me Adrian mere seconds after my upload is complete <img> I run on a virtual host and it would have been a command line thing anyways and i'm not too familiar with that yet. Just breaking in this PHP5 host.

Okay guys. Found my first minor bug but it's only in the installation file I haven't installed it yet:

On install page 1:
"2) A host server with PHP Scripting 4.x
Please note IntegraMOD does not currently run on PHP5 enabled hosts"

My gosh I hope that's not true. lol. I"m about to install I will keep you guys updated.

hmm...pressing the install button on the first page results in the page being reloaded. Anyone else having this problem?

*edit*: For more info, I'm using PHP5 and installing in the root directory. These are the only 2 things that could possibly affect this other than server settings.

I'm entering in all correct information, but pressing "start install" button at the bottom of the page doesn't do anything but refresh the page. Even tried pressing it without putting any information in the fields and it still just refreshes the page. No error messages or anything.

Seems like a php5 issue to me. If I don't get an answer, I'll upload it to my php4 server in the morning and try it.

If you were uploading files individually there may be a corrupt file If you can give your php5 version we can see if there could be an issue?

Zac,

In case you are using firefox and the no script extension this will happen. Just allow your host in no script and it should work.

I'm only bringing this up because that's what No Script did to me on occasion during testing.

The def_themes.php is incorrect in beta. To fix the problem, when you do an install remove all themes in ACP (except fi subice) and reinstall them.

The SVN copy has been updated... we should update the download.

I'm going to try creating a "forum" subdirectory and then uploading the zip file in there and uncompressing it. We'll see if that yields any results.

Anyone know how to unzip files on plesk?

Yeah I can't get the install to do anything. I'm using internet explorer and my server is php 5.0.4

This is unusual because phpbb 2.0.21 will install just fine, and so will the beta of phpbb 3.0. Can't figure this one out.

I will give certain people from this site the passwords to my server if they wish to investigate it further. Just PM me soon because I leave for work in an hour. (fubie, adrian, really any admin here...there's nothing on my new server but integramod)

You know what's interesting to me, though. Is if I delete the install directory completely, and just go to http://www.mysite.com/index.php it still forwards me to http://www.mysite.com/install/install.php every time. i even deleted all my temporary internet files. How is that possible if I deleted the entire install directory and also deleted my temp internet files?

BTW: For beta testing purposes, I'm going to upload everything to my php4 server and see if it will install. If it will, I will install it and then move the database over to my php5 server to see if the site at least will run on my server.

That way it will help pinpoint if it's just a problem in the installation files or what. I'll get back to you guys soon. And like I said PM me if you want my server passwords. Like I said there's nothing on there to mess up...the only thing there is IM 1.4.1

Trag, could you create a new thread for that error? Besides I think it may be a CHMOD issue.

Zac,

If you'd like to pm me ur details I'll try testing it for you. Trying on your php4 host is a good idea.

Zac,

I see a .SVN folder in your root. That should not be there. Did it come from the beta package? Or did someone give you a different package?

That will explain the prob.

hm? There's no .svn folder in my root. At least not right now there isn't. No there was some folders that my ftp program couldn't delete for some reason but all the folders that couldn't delete were empty.

I'm confused now . lol

okay I deleted the .svn file but still same result with the install page.

However, I have installed it flawlessly on my php4 server. Everything seems to be working fine there as far as I can tell.

Now fubie, or somebody else tell me if I did this correctly. I installed this on my php4 server and then I saved a backup of the database. I then uploaded that backup to my new server, and then just made the config.php file on my new php5 server match the config file on my php4 server (of course with correct information inputted). Then, I deleted the install and pril-install directories.

When I go to http://www.mysite.com/portal.php it gives this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 233472 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/crunderground.com/httpdocs/includes/template.php(938) : eval()'d code on line 249

I remember seeing this on the forums somewhere here so I will find the topic and see if there was a fix. But this is what initially happens when I open my portal page on my php5 server.

Okay, in my config.php file I added this line at the bottom before the closing ?>:

ini_set("memory_limit","16M");

And this completely fixed the problem. Now my question is....what did that do and how does that affect the way my forums will run?

But, thankfully, this does seem to be working flawlessly with php5 so far. My only concern is still that the installation page didn't work and I had to install on my php4 server and move it over for it to work.

Fubie: If you want, I can delete everything and let you guys try to investigate why that install page wouldn't work. Just let me know if you want me to do that.

Sorry to be rapid-firing like this, but I am on the same boat with Trag. My stats are not showing up at all. I have double-checked my permissions and they are all 100% correct.

Any ideas? Trag are you running PHP5 as well?

*Edit* I get this same problem on my installation on my PHP4 server as well so it's not a compatibility issue either. (I like having it installed on both servers....easy to pinpoint compatibility issues this way) But also keep in mind the exact same database is on both servers...but I had no errors on install.

*Edit Again for Fubie*

The following files need to be chmodded to 666 that are not currently in the instructions:

-/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_values.tpl.php
-/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_statistical.tpl.php
-/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_bars.tpl.php
-/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/decompiled.php.html
-/modules/cache/explain/e2.html

Once I CHMODDED all these files to 666 the statistics module worked just fine.

Okay now i'm going to get a little bit of sleep before going at it again tomorrow. I'm not sure if these CHMOD settings are correct in the zip file, but if you manually have to CHMOD via the instructions on the first page, these files are not included.

I tried this a moment ago...and no it's not possible. At least not the way I attempted it.

Okay now i'm really going to bed. Couldn't halt my curiosity there for a moment.

Hey ZacFields,

Seems that there's a bit of a problem with early versions of php5, specifically 5.0.3 and 5.0.4, while 5.1.x work without a problem. I'll continue looking into it.

Teelk:

It really seems like it has to be a simple fix. As previously stated, the PHPBB 3 beta and clean version of phpbb 2.0.21 installs just fine. Just running into a problem getting that darn installation page to do anything but refresh.

But as I stated, everything else *seems* to be workin flawlessly once I moved over a working version that I installed on my PHP4 server.

you should add this to the install

chmod to 777

forum root/modules/cache/templates
forum root/modules/cache/templates/fisubice

chmod to 666

forum root/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_bars.tpl
forum root/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_statistical.tpl
forum root/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_values.tpl

forum root/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_values.tpl
There is no need for the files
There is also no need for the folders, except for /modules/cache
There is also no need to make the chmod changes,
except for
777 /modules
777 /modules/cache

It is a cache folder, wich will auto populate.

im sure you are correct. My forum had these files

forum root/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_bars.tpl
forum root/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_statistical.tpl
forum root/modules/cache/templates/fisubice/content_values.tpl

but they were chmodded to 644 and statistics did not work. When I set them to 666, it fixed statistics

lol that's what i said!

I'm still way confused about this whole deal. When I installed this fresh version of 1.4.1 beta, the files I mentioned in my first post were all already there. And until I chmodded them to 666, the statistics module was a page full of errors.

I've seen 3 other people running 1.4.1 beta that had the exact same problem.

the files should not be there

but, did you or did you not chmod the folders after upload?

as you said you unpacked the zip on your local machine and then uploaded them to your site, but that means that the pre-chmoded settings where gone when you uploaded, so you had to manualy chmod all settings from the Instalation manual

if you did not chmod folders and files, and uploaded as you said, can you add images to the album, or files to posts?

so if the files are not there, but the cache directory is 777, then the files are created, and created to be 666?

I have done the test on my testsite...
I installed IntegraMOD with all caches empty.

It's when I opened 'Statistics' from the menu, that directories and files were created in modules/cache/
The Explain-directory 777 :D

In the Explain-directory, one file was created:
e2.html 666 :D with 4 files:
content_bars.tpl.php 644 :o
content_values.tpl.php 644 :o

Yeah after I uploaded, I went through and chmodded everything exactly how it says on the instructions.

As far as I can tell, now that I chmodded those files to 666 that have been mentioned in my other topic, everything works perfectly fine. I can't find any flaws in the way the forums run.

The only thing that wasn't working was the statistics module. I used the "permission denied" errors (there were numerous) on the statistics page to determine what files needed to be chmodded to 666.

The files in my folders are exactly what Evolver has described in the post above this one.

lol i'm just so darn confused. You ever feel like everyone knows what's going on but you? haha

Either way i'm happy to hear we're getting this figured out. The closer we get to having a final version out, the better.

Try for yourself, RC2 has been released. http://integramod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1691

Maybe this topic needs to be locked?
