Problem installing

When I put all the details in the install.php page and click Start Install, nothing happens. It just takes me back to the install.php page again and asks me for all the details.

I have checked permissions several times.

My setup is:

FreeBSD 6.1
Apache 2.2.0
PHP 5.1.2
MySQL 5.0.18

What Browser are you using???

I know it is compatible with IE5 + IE6 and FireFox, other browsers may have issues.

Also, is there any error message???

I have tested Firefox, Konqueror, Opera and IE same with them all.
I don't see any error messages at all.

Hmmm, sorry but I don't have any idea... <img>

Are all the files there???

Have you installed any other MySql apps on this server???

Just wondering if you've had other installs work.

I have tried PhpBB3 Beta 1, Bug Tracker, ByteHoard without problems.

Plain PhpBB2, PhpBB Plus 1.53 & IntegraMOD don't work for me.

Well, 1.4.1 has the following database selections; MySQL 3.x, MySQL 4.x/5.x, MySQL 4.x/5.x /w MySQLi, it doesn't matter wich I select, I still have the same problem.

Will see if I can downgrade it instead.

Looks like a php5 problem.

IzNoGoud, can you do me a favour and try using the attached install.php instead? Just overwrite the one from the package.

I'm actually curious about how this install.php file works on php4 as well, so if anyone is willing to test it on that for me, I'd be grateful.

Hmm, doesn't seem to be working for me. I've checked the CHMOD setting and everything is set as the install guide said (Fresh Install for 1.4.0). I fill in all the information and I checked to not install Prillian. I click on install and the same page reloads. I get no error message at all.

I replaced the install.php with the one provided in this thread and it didn't help. Here are some specs of my host:

# of SQL databases=2 (I have an IntegraMod 1.4.0 as well)
Server OS: Linux
Apache Version: 1.3.36 (Unix)
MySQL: 4.0.27-standard
PHP Version: 4.4.2
