Did you unzip the beta on your PC then upload those files to your host?

You can do it that way, but sometimes files don't upload correctly is all.
Do you have CPanel on your host?
If so you can upload the zip file to your forum directory and use cpanels filemanager to unzip it.
Then your chmod's should be done for you and less of a chance of bad file uploads. <img>

That link redirects to an invalid link with no .COM in the URL on my end. Very strange.
http://dental%20lab%20forum/profile.php ... &sub=inboxCan you post a link that doesn't require someone to be logged in? Do those pages work?
Mike SID removed from link

I've never seen this redirect thing where the location changes in the URL like that. You might double check your cookie name and domain in your admin (or config file if you can't get to the admin part) that you have .ddentallab.com as your domain setup.

only times I've seen this is when I was installing 1.4.0 and did not set the proper permissions on includes/def*
and when I tried to install on an improper php config
hope this give you a direction at least

Never post a link containing the SID... Firstly it can allow access under certain conditions (if your real clever) and secondly it should result in a blank page...

zula, After I removed the SID for my link I can browse the site perfectly. If the problem is only when a user logs in, set up a temp member so we can test...

yes, i mentioned it in previous posts,
"testuser" as log in
"testing" as a password.
also, if you click to view only forum i have on it, which is "Welcome new member", then you will see blank page withouth loging in
