AWESOME TEELK!!!!

I've got it up and running.

There does seem to be one problem:

If you click the main garage link, the shop review link image does not show? I have re transfered the image incase it was corrupted.. but it still does not work.

Problem:

For some reason the garage does not register the new pics, updated pics etc to display them on the main garage page.

If you look at the main garage page on my website, Midnightzxt has alrady uploaded pics, but they are not shown??

Hey Indyzcar,

The install instructions were missing a line in the template cfg file.

Open templates/yourtheme/yourtheme.cfg
FIND
Code: Select all
?>

BEFORE ADD
Code: Select all
$images['garage_shop_review']         = "$current_template_images/{LANG}/garage_shop_review.gif";

I'll update the download.

There may be a make or model pending. When someone creates a make or a model then the admin has to approve it before it will show. The link to the pending makes and models page is in the footer above "MyCookies Manager" and "Go to Administration Panel".

I found a pproblem with the businesses. If I add a business as a garage, it will not let me review it. The only way I can review a business is if it is an insurance company, and that come only be done under the insurance reviews.

If you click the "review garage" link.. it says "there are no insurance companys submitted."

Righ tnow I ahve a garage in teh businesses that is there so that I can test this function.

How do I get this to work?

I'll have to play with the MOD, I haven't actually used it myself yet, just did up the install.

I found the problem with the businesses. You don't actually "review" the garages, etc. When a member adds a new mod or something, and then they pick the garage that installed it, and then they rate the install.

The "review garage" button only brings you to a list of all the ratings from seperate members.

Has anyone had a problem with this modification eating up a lot of resources? I installed this last night and the CPU usage on my server has shot up to 100% ever since.

How easy is this to modify? Ideally I'd like it to be used for different PDAs?

I'm with Simon N. on this one. I run a website based off of Microsoft Flight Simulator. We use a program to host online games. We have a race course set up that we race planes on. This would be an awesome mod for my site if I could figure out how to set it up to use for aircraft. As of now all we can do is upload pics of our aircraft and see who can tell the bigest lie about their aircraft. lol. anyhow this is a cool mod.

Oh and by the way, I dloaded it and it says corrupt file when I try to open it.

When you go to the garage, at the bottom right above your "Go to Administration Panel" there will be a link to approve stuff.

No Problem. Seems like there should be a spot for this in the admin forum, but unfortunately the writers of the script didn't think of that. ah well <img>

How well will this MOD work with 141 when it comes out? Is the installation going to be the same?

i can't speak for the devs here, but I would imagine that initially this mod will not work with IM 1.4.1. Most likely it will need to be ported.

I have basically committed to delaying my upgrade for a while until we can get a ported version of this mod. For those of you with a car-related forum, this will become an instant need and once you remove it your members will be very upset.

I have 17 cars already registered on there and it's only been up for about 48 hours.

I'm actually debating the opposite, delaying adding this mod until 1.4.1 is out. Of course I will then have to wait until it is ported.

I take it that it does get heavily used once it is installed on a car site. I wonder how much extra storage (read $$/month) its going to end up taking.

As we have all said and will again, nice mod. It works great so far. EXCEPT i get this error when in profile under the garage tab you click on the pic of the car to get a bigger view and you get this:

Could Not Update Count

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

UPDATE phpbb_garage_images SET attach_hits = attach_hits + 1 WHERE attach_id =

Line : 2707
File : functions_garage.php

Other thatn that I cant nag a bit about this mod. Maybe relocate that approval link to ACP in the Garage settings area Or in the forum under the mods page as was suggested by a user earlier. Good work guys. I like this one.

Credit doesn't really go to me, but I appreciate the sentiment. The original MOD is done by poyntesm at http://forums.phpbbgarage.com

They have some image packs there some people might be interested in. They're also up to version 1.0.5, while this is a port of 1.0.0. And, it looks like 1.2.0 is very close to release, I'll update the MOD as well when I integrate to 1.4.1.

EDIT: Are you running MySQL5 by any chance? This version of the MOD isn't MySQL5 compatible.

Here are the MySQL5 fixes that I've come across so far.

Code: Select all
# #-----[ OPEN ]----- # garage.php  ##-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------#                           FROM " . GARAGE_MODS_TABLE . " AS mods, " . GARAGE_BUSINESS_TABLE . Thanks for the warning. I was just about to integrate it into The Snow Tire FAQ Forums. I think I will wait for the SQL 5 ready IM 1.4.1 integration.

Teelk do you think this mod will work with 141 now that it's out? Let me know. If not, what changes/alterations need to be made for it to work?

I've got 141 now but no garage mod for the time-being since I had to overwrite all the files for it with the upgrade.

excellent teelk. As usual I will guinea pig this for you. I've had it installed but when I uploaded 1.4.1 obviously it went over all the files, but even the garage.php file doesn't load right so i'm assuming something with the DB has to be changed. Not sure.

Let me know though, I'll be up late tonight so if you want me to test it out for you I'd be game.

Nevermind: Don't upload the update_to_105.php with the upgrade folder. Upload that file straight to the root.

Sorry, false alarm. Testing now.

If you had the mod previously with 1.4.0 and upgraded to 1.4.1 there are errors when you use just the upgrade path. I'm working on a solution.

*EDIT* Actually, nevermind. If you had this on 140 and upgraded your site to 141, you no longer fit into the "upgrade" category. You'll have to perform all the .script edits as if you were installing it for the first time, and then you'll run the upgrade SQL .script and that should work.

Ah, yes, I seemed to have missed a step in the upgrade instructions. I'll clarify a few things in the upgrade.txt file.

Download has been updated.

Works like a charm Teelk. It didn't occur to me at first that those included files were all new files, and not pre-modded files. Once I noticed that, I realized that I needed to go through and update all the files via the installation instructions.

Hi

How do i add more fields, is there a tutorial for?

How do i show every car in the profile of the user and not just one?

Maybe a "bug"?: if i go into the ACP and try to change the permissions, it does not save them.

What to do?

How does this play (and install) with Advanced Group Color Management - IM 141?

Teelk I got a quick question. I tried this and the button on viewtopic underneath each poster shows up for everyone whether they have a vehicle in the garage or not. How can I fix it so only those who have a vehicle in the garage will have the button show. Much like if someone doesn't input their aim the aim button will not show. Also I want the button to link to their car's profile.

Teelk, not sure if you're keeping an eye on this project but could I get you to take a look at my garage? I'm not sure if this is normal but my garage runs SLLLOOWWWW compared to the rest of my site.

I didn't notice it until I upgraded my hosting and all my other pages are now loading under 1 second each but the garage page is the only page on the site that takes about 4 seconds to load. Any ideas? And is anyone else having this problem?

Zac,

Can you please detail if all pages are slow or just some? Hopefully we can help you get to the bottom of it.

Also thanks to Teelk for what looks like a good job at integrating into IM.
